Great point and click I am enjoying it
A great game that combines charming visuals, engaging puzzles, and a festive storyline perfect for the holiday season. With its magical atmosphere and lovable characters, it’s a delightful experience for players of all ages who want to embrace the Christmas spirit. Loved it!!!
Overall, Watch Over Christmas is a delightful point-and-click adventure. I just wish it were more polished. The game has several contextual errors and some translation oddness. And the protagonist's voice is grating.
A Christmas story with great puzzles and nice artwork. A solid point 'n' click game. You should play this, not only in Christmas!
Watch Over Christmas is a charming holiday-themed point-and-click adventure developed and published by Dionous Games that captures the warmth, imagination, and nostalgia of classic Christmas tales. The game places players in the role of Cisco, a twelve-year-old boy whose peaceful Christmas Eve takes an unexpected turn after discovering that Santa Claus has vanished. What begins as an ordinary holiday quickly transforms into an enchanting quest filled with magical creatures, whimsical locations, and mysterious challenges. The narrative embraces the wonder of childhood while presenting an uplifting story centered on bravery, kindness, and the enduring spirit of Christmas. Its lighthearted tone and family-friendly presentation make it an inviting adventure for players of all ages. The game's storytelling is one of its strongest qualities, steadily expanding from a simple rescue mission into an imaginative journey through beautifully crafted fantasy settings. Cisco develops into a relatable protagonist whose determination and curiosity drive the adventure forward, while the supporting cast adds personality and humor to every stage of the journey. Dialogue remains engaging without becoming overly complicated, balancing comedic moments with emotional scenes that reinforce the importance of friendship, hope, and self-belief. Although the overall story follows a linear structure, it remains consistently entertaining thanks to its memorable characters and magical atmosphere, making players eager to discover what awaits around every corner. Gameplay follows the traditions of classic point-and-click adventures while incorporating modern design choices that improve accessibility. Exploration, inventory management, environmental interaction, and puzzle-solving form the core of the experience, with each challenge encouraging logical thinking rather than frustrating guesswork. The puzzles gradually increase in complexity, rewarding careful observation and experimentation without becoming unnecessarily difficult. A variety of mini-games helps keep the pacing fresh, preventing the gameplay from feeling repetitive while introducing different ways to interact with the world. The intuitive interface and smooth progression make the game approachable for newcomers while still offering satisfying moments for experienced adventure fans. Artistically, Watch Over Christmas delivers a delightful visual experience through its vibrant hand-drawn environments and expressive character animations. Every location is filled with colorful details that evoke the magic of the holiday season, from cozy interiors decorated for Christmas to imaginative fantasy landscapes that feel straight out of a storybook. The visual style successfully creates a sense of wonder that complements the game's narrative, while subtle animations bring life to each scene without distracting from exploration. The polished presentation demonstrates a clear commitment to craftsmanship, giving every environment its own distinct personality and charm. The audio design further strengthens the game's immersive atmosphere. Fully voiced characters make conversations more engaging, allowing each personality to stand out naturally throughout the adventure. The soundtrack complements the festive setting with warm orchestral compositions that shift appropriately between relaxing exploration and more dramatic story moments. Ambient sound effects enrich each location, creating an inviting world that feels alive and magical. Together, the music and voice acting contribute significantly to the emotional impact of Cisco's adventure, enhancing both its heartfelt moments and its sense of holiday excitement. While the game excels in atmosphere and storytelling, it is not without limitations. Players seeking highly complex puzzles or multiple narrative paths may find the experience somewhat straightforward. Replay value is also limited once the mystery has been solved, as the story unfolds along a fixed path. Nevertheless, these minor shortcomings do little to diminish the overall quality of the adventure because the game succeeds in delivering exactly what it promises: an enjoyable, heartfelt Christmas story supported by polished gameplay, appealing visuals, and memorable characters. Watch Over Christmas stands as an excellent example of how traditional point-and-click adventures can remain engaging when supported by thoughtful design and genuine storytelling. Rather than relying on flashy mechanics or action-heavy sequences, it focuses on creating an emotional and magical journey that celebrates the joy and wonder of the holiday season. Its combination of accessible puzzles, imaginative world-building, attractive hand-drawn artwork, and uplifting narrative makes it a rewarding experience for families, adventure enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a cozy game that embraces the timeless spirit of Christmas. Rating: 8/10
The Santa has been captured, and there’s a danger that kids all over the world will be left without presents under their trees. But one young boy, Cisco, holds the key to saving Christmas. His dad once bought a strange box and forgot about it in the attic. It turns out the box contains the Christmas Spirit, which takes possession of your favorite doll to communicate with you and help you on your adventure. As always in point-and-click adventure games, your main tool is the mouse and its buttons. Although you can technically play with a gamepad, it’s not an enjoyable experience because you waste time moving around instead of simply, well, pointing and clicking. Your task is to search for hotspots, interact with them, and use them to solve puzzles. When you move the cursor over a hotspot, you’ll see its name along with the default action, which you trigger with the left mouse button. This action is usually “examine,” but the rest follow logical conventions: you’ll see “open” for doors or windows and “use” for switches or other functional items. Of course, as is standard in modern adventure games, there’s a magical button that reveals all hotspots so you don’t miss anything in the more detailed scenes. However, the game takes inspiration from the golden age of classics by including multiple actions per hotspot. This is indicated by a small plus sign next to the cursor, right beside the hotspot’s name and default action. You can open the list of available actions with the right mouse button. Only relevant actions appear, and not every possible one for every object. You’ll have to experiment with different actions on each hotspot to gather all available information and pick up necessary items. The voice acting is decent, and you can skip dialogue if you’re a fast reader. Conversations often contain several topics to choose from, but once a topic is discussed, it disappears from the list. The only ones that remain are those tied to active puzzles or upcoming solutions. It’s wise to question characters often because new topics sometimes appear as you progress. Fresh topics are highlighted in white, while previously discussed ones are grayed out. Items are stored in the inventory at the bottom of the screen. It’s visible by default, but you can close it by clicking on the backpack icon and reopen it by moving the cursor to the bottom of the screen. Clicking on an item makes it “active,” allowing you to try it on hotspots or combine it with other inventory items. Items don’t disappear when you try incorrect combinations, so you can quickly test them with everything available. There are quite a lot of hotspots in each scene, many of which don’t matter to the main solution, so you may spend quite some time experimenting. If you get stuck and the objectives list doesn’t help, you can talk to your doll for a few hints. For collectible hunters, some screens contain hidden presents. These are not revealed by the in-game hotspot highlight and have no visible labels, so you’ll need to keep a sharp eye and click on anything that might resemble a gift. When opened, each collectible is displayed on a separate “present screen,” showing a reference to a well-known franchise or a classic adventure game. There are 36 presents in total, but due to the game’s linear structure, you only have a limited time window to find them. The good news is that the collectible screen lists them in chronological order, so if you miss one, you can easily identify which chapter it belongs to. The option to save in multiple slots helps a lot, too. There’s also an auto-save feature, but it’s not entirely reliable. At one point, I ran into a bug that prevented progress, though I managed to bypass it by frantically left-clicking (a double-click on an exit teleports you instantly). Unfortunately, that broke the game, forcing me to load a manual save from earlier. Overall, this is a fun adventure that takes quite a few hours and contains a bunch of secret achievements.
I wish I could forget everything about this game and play it again every christmas!
Such a cute game! It is obvious that a lot of love has been put into by the devs, hopefully more people will try it out, recommended!
This is fab and reminds me a lot of classic '90s kid-friendly adventure games like those made by Humongous (Putt-Putt, Fatty Bear, etc.). The puzzles are *mostly* fair but there is one that drove me nuts as it involved interacting with something straight-up invisible, not even highlighted when you make the game highlight interact-able areas. (Edit: to be clear, the puzzle in question is designed around the solution not being immediately visible, so this isn't a bug)
Avventura classica punta e clicca senza infamia e senza lode. Un po' lenta nell'inizio. Migliora dopo poco. Grafica carina. Interessanti le locazioni e le mitologie a sfondo natalizio. Ovviamente da giocare rigorosamente a natale.
