Bugs! Can't return to the citadel after completing ag center/highpool/prison, game freezes after 4-man ranger team cutscene. I don't believe they'll be fixing that, so don't bother spending $ and time playing this game.

As a ranger you can defeat almost anything in this game, except for myriad of glitches that ruin the experience and overall impression. Some great old school RPG mechanics in this modern day sequel. I never played the original but I had a blast and replayed Wasteland 2 multiple times for the handful of endings this game offers. Cool environments, interesting stories and NPCs. A lot of character customization options, unique recruits, plenty of items and weapons, this game packs a big punch for a little crowd-funded game.
[h3]概要[/h3] 見下ろし型のRPG。 似たゲームは結構あって、Fallout1～2、バルダーズ・ゲート１～2、Divinity: Original Sin、Grim Dawnとか。 [h3]ストーリー、キャラクター[/h3] いわゆるポストアポカリプスもの。 核戦争後の世界で秩序を維持しようとしているレンジャーと言われる集団の一員として、いろんな事件を解決しつつ、最終的に世界も救っちゃうやつ。 2なので1もあるのだけど、30年以上前の作品なので、正直やる必要はないかなと。 個人的には古くても前作プレイする派なのだけど、古すぎて日本語化もないので諦めました。 一応、前作のストーリーに関わる要素がかなり多いのだけど、細かく説明してくれてるので、プレイ自体は問題ないです。 でもまあ、前作プレイしているほうが楽しめるんだろうな。 [h3]ゲームプレイ、システム[/h3] プレイキャラクターは、チームのメンバーとして4人選べる。 特にストーリーに絡むような要素はないので、既存のレンジャーから選んでもいいし、自分で新規に作ってもよい。 それとは別で、冒険の途中で最大3人までキャラクターをチームに加えることができて最大7人チームでプレイします。 UIは正直使いやすいとは言い難いが、まあプレイに支障はない。 ただ、インベントリはもうちょっときめ細かくソートやフィルタさせてほしい。 戦闘はSRPGっぽい感じ。 武器の種類で攻撃範囲が変わったり、素早さで移動範囲が変わったりする。 ただ、向きの概念が薄かったり微妙に痒いところに手が届かない感じもする。 [h3]ビジュアル、サウンド[/h3] 小さい3Dキャラクターが結構こまかく動くのが気持ちいい。 首が吹っ飛んだり、膝下吹き飛んでひっくり返るようなグロ表現がドットでぬるぬる表現されていて小気味よい。 [h3]まとめ[/h3] 全体的に荒い印象ですが、結構楽しめました。 続編があるようなので、そのうちそちらもプレイすると思います。 [h1] ★★★[/h1]
I still didn't manage to get the editor to run.
If you want an old-school feeling wasteland apocalypse game with turn based combat and a long story this is your game. Sometimes it's a little heavy on combat, sometimes things just don't go your way due to luck, sometimes you reload 8 times because you can't get past a fight (and then finally hit it just right) but it's pretty satisfying overall IMO. Just don't be a hurry to play through and pretend it's 1999. I've played 101 hours and I still haven't beaten it but that's because I keep starting over. To me it's a fun cRPG. If you're looking for something that's ultra-polished & made by a 300 person studio this might not be your buy. Go watch a couple videos on YT to find out if it is. I played a long time on Windows. Lately I play on Linux Mint LTS (so far so good).
Very good grand RPG. Pretty wacky, which is not to my taste at this extreme, but still very good. Wasteland 3 is even better.
