Warning: Criminal Theft/Fraud The "developer" of this game engaged in a criminal, fraudulent act by accepting money from gamers then revoking their keys by abusing a developer feature... to take money from people in a sale, then fail to deliver the product as expected is textbook fraud. The developer stole money from gamers. The developer will make the unverifiable, and completely irrelevant claim that he "had an argument with the person he sold keys to". Even if that was true, and there is no reason to believe so, this is for the developer to take up with the reseller that he deliberately entered into a business relationship with. Revoking keys doesn't solve the problem, and so we can only conclude that wasn't the reason the developer undertook a willingly and knowingly fraudulent action... note that the developer has kept all the money he took from the gamers he defrauded, indirectly or directly. Under no circumstances should anyone risk their money by letting this scammer near you.
Lucky me gets the perhaps dubious honour of being the first to review Warrior Architects. Warrior Architects is an ambitious, perhaps overambitious medieval strategy game that has an appealing set of features and avenues for rich and rewarding gameplay. Run a medieval tribe, manage resources, construct buildings, and engage in RPG depth tactical combat. Not resting on design laurels, there's also a full campaign. With features like this it should be a slam dunk... but unfortunately all this effort building such a promising game design and concept was completely wasted with one of the weakest quality technical implementations I've seen. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings I've ever hurt my eyes on. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. Developers must try to understand that gaming is primarily a visual medium. Failing to satisfy this standard means failing completely. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Bewilderingly, the game doesn't include proper audio controls, so you can't turn off the annoying sound/background music, you'll need to alt+tab out and stop it using the Windows sound mixer. This is obviously not okay and it's unclear why the developers chose not to include this basic feature. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and that only happened once. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Warrior Architects has the ridiculous, laughable price of $17 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $17 asking price for this game could get you games like "Detroit: Become Human", "Monster Hunter Rise" or "Red Dead Redemption 2". No pixelcrap is worth $17. If developers want to get paid the same kind of money as real game developers who know how to do graphics properly, they need to learn how to do graphics properly.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The developer delivers some amazing, flowery words that are completely empty lies. I purchased the key for this game legally, the developer was paid for that key, the developer then immediately revoked that key by abusing a Steam developer feature. The developer did not refund me, the developer did not replace my key. The developer conducted a deliberate act of criminal fraud, for profit. And I'm not the only victim. Utterly unacceptable behaviour... judge this developer not by the lies, but by his criminal actions. People don't care how much effort this guy puts into his "game" when the developer stole the keys they paid for so they can't play it.
I'm impressed by the quality of this indie game: it takes just a few minutes to learn the controls. You can gather resources (wood, stone, food), hire units (knights, archers), build a fortress (towers, walls, training camps), research new technologies, and invade neighbors so that they stop attacking you. Everything you gained (levels, research) is preserved from chapter to chapter, so that you become more powerful as the story progresses. I really like the "hand-drawn" style. There are a few errors to fix in the translation from Taiwanese Mandarin to English: Complate building => Complete building Ming camp => Mine camp
WHY YOU REVOKED MY KEY FROM 24. OCT 2024 NOW ? €: Got a New Key. Thanks for that, but why you did this ? :,(
