Lead your band of mercenaries to victory in a procedurally generated fantasy world. Manage your resources, customise your army and wage epic battles against orc clans, barbarian hordes and legions of the undead. The art style may be cute, but this tactical roguelike is anything but forgiving.

simple and short but fun
This is a delightful little indie game. It's focused and simple, but works in what it wants to accomplish. I bought because I'm old as the mountains and it made me remember playing the ancient Brotherbund Sun Tzu's Art of War. It did scratch that itch and added some other elements from old school gaming that I really liked. The reviews saying it's unbalanced are kind of wrong and also not getting the point. Differently good leader picks is how you set the difficulty, but since this is organic and not spelled out a lot of gamers seem to miss what it actually does. The units are not terribly imbalanced either. Skeleton archer do a lot of damage, but you can deal with them if you've made proper strategic choices. Nor is this an RNG fest (I hate those kind of games, see my review of The Darkest Dungeon if you want to see me being salty about such nonsense). It is stately and predictable, you weighs risk vs reward and get to think a little bit about your next few moves. Old school indeed. Again, it's a small game, but within it there is a learning curve, some tactical variation, simple resource management and tactical map movement. It is well worth its price. The one downside is that is seems a little bit unstable and sometimes crashes. But since the game is quick you don't lose hours of progress so I don't mind it for the price. The game is great when you want to idle away 15 to 45 minutes between everyday tasks. The designer shows an understanding of good mechanics building for games, so if you want to support a smal maker with good ideas and talent, give it a go!
The game crashes a lot. That is in itself a good reason to avoid this game. The gameplay when it works properly is actually decent, slightly too difficult and no meta progression. A shame. Gave up on the game after an hour of play. As I said, the game crashes too much to be worth it. Had there been metaprogression I might have given it more thought, but as it is right now I cannot recommend it. Sadly :( 4 of 10
The game has no volume options, or options of any sort. Unit balancing is horrible, and you are punished severely for deviating from the dotted line you're told to follow. Visually the game looks nice, but in its current state it is not worth playing. It should be quite telling that the most playtime any review has at the time of my posting this is less than two hours.
The games is fun and nice, especially for such a low price. The color are way too saturated though. it kind of look like a grey filter at half transparency had been applied on the whole game, making it kind of hard to see units on the map or to play for a long time. I would highly recommend fixing that if its something simple to do. Still, good job! fun game
A very nice, cute little auto battler. You're certainly at the mercy of RNG sometimes but for me that adds to the excitement! Some slight rebalancing needs done and an options menu to turn down the sound but overall, and considering both the price and the fact it is the developer's first full game, I would absolutely recommend this game!
