This game needs to be touched up and remastered.. not just dumped onto steam for $10, as is from its 1998 release.
I had a demo for this in 1998 where you have to defend a countess at a church. Loved it then, but never played the full game. Coming back to it almost 30 years later, it holds up great. When the cannon rips through a horde of undead and then rotten gore splashes out and individual zombies go flying, it's just as satisfying as any higher fidelity game I've played. I love the fully voice acted Medieval Zoom meetings, too. This game is so sincere in its presentation. Great voice actors and music. You can tell this was made by a bunch of nerds that wanted to make something cool out of a thing they were passionate about. It's authentic in a way that modern games - even when they're inspired by the old stuff - almost never are. Not a hint of irony or embarrassment about what they were making. Anyway, it's fun to play, and easy to get into. Check it out.
Favourite game from my childhood. Still plays wonderfully!
This game is an oldie, but one of my favorite games from childhood. The main character Morgan Bernhardt is a great mercenary personalty; arrogant, fierce, and some of the conversations that happen are top notch and hilarious. For a game from 1998 you'll get quality graphics and a great strategy game for cheap set in the Warhammer world, and kind of a sneak peek at inspiration for the Total War: Warhammer series.
Very thematic, epic and gritty. Pretty hard at points and does a great job representing the WH universe.
