This was a absolutely brilliant game till the update, and then they broke it !!!! now it does not work !!!
This game is perfect for anyone who’s into real-time strategy with a lot of action, even if you don’t really know much about the Warhammer 40k lore. As you play, you start to understand what they’re fighting for and who they’re fighting for, no spoilers needed. Back in the day, this game really impressed me. I got so into it that I didn’t even take the time to properly write a review. And Retribution? Shame, that one’s also really good, carries on the experience nicely. For me, when it comes to strategy games, this one could easily take a bunch of awards. I became a fan of the whole franchise after playing it, ended up getting hooked on the story. For those who don’t know it yet, just go check it out, even if it’s just a quick wikipedia search. It’s not just another strategy game, it’s basically a work of art.
Hard-locks my machine at launch, and the best help I could find was "download this file." No thanks. I'll just wait for DoW4.
Won't run on windows 11. Tried a bunch of fixes.
It's a different flavor of grimdark RTS compared to the original. Action-reaction oriented gameflow is enjoyable and the game actually rewards big brain plays. The vanilla multiplayer scene is still active in 2025, Elite Mod is also thriving. My fav of the series so far. Warp Spiders.
запомните если вы попали на безжизненный ледяной мир то НЕ В КОЕМ СЛУЧАЕ не срите в яму вокруг которой цепи
Game will not launch and locks up my PC, windows 11. It's insane the game can be sold in this state without any testing.
Got the game figuring some warhammer RTS, SURPRISE its a weird MOBA with poor movement control - try to dodge out of stuff and your dudes usually walk into it then get stuck. Then half way through the campaign, it took away a squad member and all of his gear that I had built my setup around to tank since dodging is impossible when the units move usually the opposite direction of what you tell them to. No warning, no nothing, campaign is bricked, and not even on a high difficulty. It can be entertaining if your into that, the aesthetics are definitely nice...but buyer be warned that you need to know what things happen and when before you try the campaign to handle it properly, which is a terrible design flaw when it is a story driven campaign, and you can't rely on your troops movement to handle the encounters.
no base building, but pretty solid micro/tactical.
