About
Can't do it alone. Together, we absolutely can!
The Pig King's army made off with every acorn in the village, and two friends set out to get them back. WACKY! Deer & Munk Adventure is a 2D puzzle platformer where you swap between two heroes who are good at completely different things, across 200 stages.
Deer hauls things around. Munk squeezes through the tight spots. And when there's no way forward, you make one.
Reading the stage and picking the right hero for the job. That's the whole game.
Dash across the ground, double jump up a wall, glide over the gap. The more you master the controls, the farther and faster you'll go.
It only takes minutes to learn, but much longer to master. The difficulty climbs steadily across all 10 themes: easy going at first, properly demanding by the middle, and no mercy at all by the end.
There's no difficulty menu. There are items instead.
Collect acorns, take down enemies, earn coins, and buy what you need. Clear a stage cleanly and you'll upgrade those items that much faster.
Ten bonus stages open up in 2-player mode. Take one hero each and see who gets the other one killed first.
There are over 200 costumes and silly dances waiting too. Dress them however you like, or match with your friend.
Take it slow at first. Once the controls click, run as fast as you want.
Stuck? Swap heroes. Still stuck? Use an item.
Do that and every last acorn is coming home. Good luck out there!

Go라니!

After evil pigs come to steal all the acorns from the chipmunks, one brave chipmunk sets out to bring them all back. Before long, it’s joined by a deer who also has no love for pigs, so the two decide to join forces. You can switch between them at any time, but the characters simply replace each other on screen and don’t need to be controlled simultaneously unless you jump into the two player mode. Both characters control like standard platforming heroes, with movement and jumping as their basic abilities. The chipmunk has a double jump, but its maximum height is the same as the deer’s normal jump, so neither has a real advantage. They also share the ability to climb walls, allowing them to scale straight walls without any restrictions or limitations. The real difference comes from their unique abilities. The chipmunk is better suited for platforming and reaching narrow places thanks to its smaller size and ability to glide through the air. The deer, meanwhile, can dash through the air and, more importantly, carry boxes. These can be used as extra platforms, but more often you’ll be placing them on pressure switches. The best part is that the deer’s jumping height isn’t affected while carrying a box, and you can even wall jump while holding one. The first chapter, out of ten in total, each containing 20 stages, is designed to introduce you to the game’s mechanics. The objective is straightforward: reach the end of each stage before the timer hits zero. Thankfully, the timer is generous and rarely becomes an issue, although it can put a little more pressure on you in some of the later and more elaborate stages. The difficulty curve is incredibly smooth and natural, largely thanks to the high number of stages in each chapter, which allows new challenges to be introduced gradually. There’s never an overwhelming amount to worry about because a stage can be completed in just a few minutes. Each chapter brings its own threats that require some learning, such as the moving saws in the second chapter or cannons in the third, but good platforming skills are generally all you need. Most of the challenge comes from environmental threats that force you to keep moving, such as rising water or lava, as well as the boss waiting at the end of every 20th stage. If you need a little extra help, there are four powers available, although their uses are limited. The magnet pulls acorns toward you from a distance or from otherwise unreachable spots. The hourglass freezes time for a few seconds, which is particularly useful when dealing with switches. The shield blocks one hit, while the jetpack lets you reach higher areas. Along the way, you can collect acorns, with the required number clearly shown for each stage. Grab them all and you’ll earn all three stars for that stage. They aren’t required to progress, but they’re a nice extra for collectors and anyone with a perfectionist streak. Most situations can be handled using your basic abilities, but some acorns are deliberately placed in spots that can only be reached with one of these powers. Medals earned from completing stages let you upgrade all four powers, improving their effectiveness and extending their duration. Each power can be upgraded a maximum of three times, with each upgrade becoming more expensive. Health can also be upgraded using stars. Each health upgrade gives you one additional hit, although it isn’t technically one of the four powers. You start with two hearts and can eventually have up to five. Each heart effectively gives you one chance to survive, and you’ll lose them quickly because a single touch from an enemy or environmental hazard is enough to kill you. There are no checkpoints, so losing a heart means restarting the stage. Thankfully, the stages are short enough that this rarely feels too punishing, and nothing you’ve done resets unless you lose all lives. Another thing you earn for completing stages, as well as in smaller quantities by defeating enemies by jumping on their heads, is coins. These can be used to buy the four powers from a cat merchant who appears at the beginning of every stage. You can hold up to five charges of each power, and it’s entirely up to you how often you want to use them. Running out of coins is never really a concern, since stages can always be replayed. Alternatively, you can spend your coins at the main menu on customization options. These include hats, face accessories, outfits, and dances. Each character has their own selection, and while some items are practically identical between them, you still have to buy them separately for each character. You can also earn extra coins by completing achievements. Most of these will happen naturally as you play, while others require a little more effort, with their requirements revealed in the achievements menu. All in all, this is a very fun platformer that starts off easy but gradually builds toward more demanding challenges. The difficulty curve feels fair throughout, and the constant introduction of new mechanics prepares you for later stages. Surprisingly, the sheer number of short stages is one of its biggest strengths. Being able to finish a stage in just a few minutes makes the game perfect for that classic “just one more stage before bed” feeling, which platformers don’t always manage to deliver.
Wacky!
Wacky! Deer & Munk Adventure is a cheerful 2D puzzle platformer that uses cooperation between two very different characters as the foundation of its entire adventure. Developed and published by IDIOCRACY, INC, the game follows Deer and Munk as they attempt to recover the village’s stolen acorns from the Pig King and his army. Rather than relying on an elaborate narrative, it keeps the premise deliberately simple and puts most of its attention on platforming, environmental puzzles, collecting, and learning how the two protagonists complement each other. The most important mechanic is switching between Deer and Munk. Deer is the stronger of the pair, capable of moving heavy objects and dashing across the ground, while Munk specializes in agility. Munk can double jump, glide across gaps, and squeeze through narrow spaces that Deer cannot access. These differences make character switching an essential part of solving stages rather than a superficial gimmick. Players frequently need to inspect their surroundings, determine which ability is required, and sometimes use one character to alter the environment so the other can advance. This structure gives the game a satisfying mixture of physical execution and problem solving. Knowing what to do is only part of the challenge because players must eventually become proficient with the movement system as well. Dashing, jumping, gliding, climbing, and navigating hazards become increasingly demanding as the campaign progresses. The controls are designed to be approachable at first, but later stages expect much greater precision. This gradual increase in complexity makes the adventure suitable for newcomers during its opening sections while still giving experienced platformer fans something more demanding to overcome later. Content is certainly not lacking, with 200 stages divided across ten different themes. Such a large campaign gives the central character-switching concept plenty of opportunities to evolve. Early stages can introduce individual mechanics in relatively safe situations, while later challenges combine movement, environmental manipulation, enemies, and character abilities into more complicated sequences. The difficulty steadily increases, eventually becoming considerably less forgiving than the cute presentation might suggest. That contrast between an inviting visual identity and increasingly demanding gameplay is one of the game's more distinctive characteristics. Instead of offering a conventional difficulty selection, Wacky! Deer & Munk Adventure integrates assistance into its progression system. Players collect acorns, defeat enemies, earn coins, and purchase useful items. Performing well and completing stages cleanly can also help improve these items more quickly. This creates an interesting relationship between skill and progression. Players who master the mechanics receive rewards for efficient performance, while those struggling with particular obstacles can use items to make troublesome sections more manageable. When progress comes to a halt, switching heroes or choosing an appropriate item becomes part of the intended problem-solving process. Cooperative play fits the concept particularly well. In solo play, one person controls both protagonists by switching between them, but two-player shared or split-screen co-op allows each participant to take responsibility for one hero. This changes the experience from individual puzzle solving into direct coordination. Because Deer and Munk depend upon one another, successful progress requires both players to understand their responsibilities. Mistakes can create amusing situations where one player accidentally causes trouble for the other, which complements the game's deliberately lighthearted personality. Ten additional stages are also available specifically for two-player play, making cooperative mode more substantial than a simple alternative control option. Collecting provides another incentive to explore beyond reaching the end of each stage. The game includes more than 200 costumes along with humorous dances, giving players plenty of cosmetic rewards to discover and use. Deer and Munk can be customized independently, while cooperative players can coordinate their appearances if they wish. Combined with acorn collecting, coins, item upgrades, enemies, bonus stages, and 73 Steam achievements, these extras give completion-focused players considerably more to pursue after they understand the basic mechanics. The hand-drawn visual direction is deliberately playful rather than technically extravagant. Deer and Munk have exaggerated appearances that immediately communicate the game's humorous nature, and the colorful environments fit its family-friendly presentation. The visual style also makes the increasingly difficult platforming feel somewhat less intimidating. Even when a sequence requires repeated attempts, the characters and absurd situations help preserve the sense that the game is supposed to be fun rather than relentlessly punishing. The technical requirements are appropriately modest for this type of production. It supports single-player play, shared and split-screen cooperative modes, Steam Remote Play Together, Steam Cloud, achievements, and Family Sharing. A controller is recommended, which makes sense considering the increasing importance of precise movement during later stages. Interface support for ten languages also makes the game accessible to a broader audience. Its biggest potential weakness comes from the same mechanic that defines its identity. Much of the campaign ultimately revolves around examining obstacles, choosing Deer or Munk, using the appropriate ability, and executing the solution correctly. Players who do not enjoy character switching or puzzle-oriented platforming may eventually find that formula repetitive across such a large number of stages. The simple story is also primarily a framework for the gameplay rather than a major attraction in its own right. Anyone expecting extensive storytelling or character development should therefore adjust expectations accordingly. Nevertheless, Wacky! Deer & Munk Adventure has a clear understanding of what it wants to accomplish. Its complementary protagonists create a strong mechanical foundation, while the 200-stage campaign, escalating challenge, item progression, collectibles, customization, and dedicated cooperative content provide enough surrounding variety to sustain the concept. IDIOCRACY, INC has produced a platformer that looks innocent and silly on the surface but gradually asks for considerably more skill and thought than its presentation initially implies. For players who enjoy puzzle platformers that combine precision movement with environmental problem solving, it offers a substantial and appealing adventure. Rating: 7/10
