No point buying this as the developers have decided to release the sequal (finished Game) added a 2 to it and are selling it for twice the price on Viveport, so if you want the complete finished game this is not it and by the programmers actions I am guessing this will now not ever come out of Beta. On the flip side its fun and half the price of the full release, just a pity they did not honour their beta buyers with the completed game
Gameplay Video https://youtu.be/dQnwpd-TzKE So much better than I thought it was going to be, has slide and teleport. The combat seems good for VR and you work up a real sweat. Bought when it was on sale so got a real bargain, love it when VR games surprise you. Played on a OG Vive @ SS 2 with tpcast, 6600k @ 4.3, 16gb Ram and a GTX 1080 and seemed to run fine for me.
Reviewed using HTC Vive Pro and Vive Wireless
🔒 Only for Game Collectors out there that want the "Unavailable" for your Steam Library, add this to your pulled from steam collections, soon to be removed for the sequel "VR2" 🔓 ✔️ Good Graphics and Good Sounds ❌ Overuse of "Bro" and "Bros" 🙃 https://youtu.be/PwL4MxV4wk0
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
This was my best purchase of the Steam Summer Sale. I got this game for $1.19 USD, 90% off before they decreased the discount. I must admit, I think this game is definitely worth full retail price, but still who doesn't love a steal bargain and that makes playing the game all that much sweeter :) The graphics in this game are absolutely gorgeous. The game ran smoothly for the most part, although at times, especially with lots of enemies on screen, it did seem to stutter just a bit. There is full locomotion with snap turning or you can teleport (but not pick the direction you are facing). The snap turn is kind of slow though. You do move at a brisk pace but there are some pathing issues so I found I had to teleport at times. There's lots of weapons available, but you don't really get to choose your weapons, at least not at the start. You're stuck with these dual daggers. They are not bad, but throwing them does take some practice and they only do about 10 damage so you'll be swinging a lot to take an enemy down. The game definitely gets easier once you get a more powerful weapon, like the axe that does 45 damage. Weapons do have special powers you can activate at times. I wasn't sure what made the activation available, it may be rage or it may just be on a timer. Special abilities include a whirlwind like ability or fire or just simply increased damage. Weapons include dagger, sword & board, big axe, double mini axe, halberds, throwing spears (although they are called throwing axes) and bow & arrows. I was not happy about the bow & arrow. It seemed like grabbing the notch to spawn an arrow was very specific, too specific & easy to miss if you weren't looking directly at it which you'll do when you're fighting enemies. Also, enemies seem to easily block your arrows so you have to wait for openings. It doesn't matter if you aim for their head or their feet, they block a high percentage, whether they have a shield or not. In fact, the same applies for anything you throw. They also block melee a lot, but at least there you can spam it very fast so it doesn't matter if they block some. So that's the biggest problem with this game. The combat is too simple. The physics is off and at the end of the day, you can just spam swings by moving your wrists back and forth, which is especially effective with the axe. Fortunately, the boss fight does have strategy involved and you can't just spam melee or else you'll die quickly. You'll also need to snipe some enemies that are perched above, although you can really ignore most of them if you enjoy melee. At least switching weapons is easy. For $11.99, this game is bargain-priced, as long as you don't have high expecations on the combat having more depth. Think of it more like a workout / adventure game, don't think of it as Dark Souls. Lastly, the voice acting was very rough and the translations were bad. I did not understand most of what was being said. It didn't matter, you kill stuff quickly, pick up coins, collect health and attack powerups, and kill some more. Rate 7/10. At this price range, this is good stuff. p.s. That Forsakened999 dude should be reported to steam. Not only is he a racist, but his review is mostly inaccurate. I never got stuck, you can exit the game easily ... the only thing he got right is that there is no smooth turning, only snap turning .... just report him.
Okay VR adventure chinese medieval experience with good graphics. Some bugs need to be fixed: - couldn t finish the first level - reload of arrows is not fluid - need some turn-around control It seems that a sequel has been released which looks very similar and is much better. Maybe check out the sequel before you buy the prequel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8Ob2r__kpo
Just doesn't work with Oculus. For some reason everything you hold in your left hand is pointing down at 90 degrees from where it should be, so you have to hold your left hand at a painfully awkward angle to use anything. So the shield points flat face to the floor, as does the bow. Makes it impossible to play. I can find no way of switching the weapons. If it got fixed it would be a nice looking game, but as it is it is unplayable for me.
Quasi in Lichtgeschwindigkeit..... I wanted to like the game. Love the story, graphic is good. However, somehow the game does not support WMR. It show 2 image in 2 eyes, instead of a 3D object. I have to play the first part closing 1 eye. It make the motion worse. I got serious Motion sickness after playing the game. Did refund (hence thump down). However I follow and keep the game on my wish list, if the 2nd version of the game supports WMR better, I will defintely buy.
