For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. Disclaimer: I am a real life ping pong player This was not what I expected. I play a lot of real life ping pong and was excited to be able to play at home. This isn't anything like the real game. I had to dramatically change my style. The spins don't register as well. Summary: If you are a real life ping pong player, you won't enjoy this. UPDATE: It looks like this review garnered a lot of attention and maybe criticism due to its short amount of words. Let me be clear of my expectations: I bought this game because I love ping pong. This game isn't being advertised as some futuristic pong like game like Holoball. The picture literally says "table tennis simulator," so the game should simulate playing ping pong. Did it correctly simulate table tennis? NO. It's nowhere close to being the real thing and doesn't deserve to be called a "table tennis simulator."

Stubborn physics. No special ball hits. It's not fun at all. Highly not recommended, even with discount.
I play Virtual Sports, Eleven and Racket Fury quite often. Each has its pros and cons but they all have what this game does not have, real life PHYSICS! Top spin, side spin, back spin, acceleration, deceleration, angle changes when a heavy side spin hits the table, NOT HERE, as least not in any appreciable amount. With pixel graphics and characters I expected a fast game of accurate table tennis, however, what I got was a laggy, cartoon version of table tennis with no real real physics and clunky menu and controls. So I blew a couple bucks and got it on sale, NO big deal, but I wouldnt recommend that you do the same. .3hrs and I doubt I will ever play this game again because I love table tennis and this just isnt it.
Do you remember those hot summer nights as a child playing table tennis with your best friend or family outside? Or playing it in the basement... it was always so much fun. Started difficult, but with training you saw yourself improving quickly. Since I am not owning a table tennis and the next one is too far away and I am not a child or youngster anymore, this is the perfect solution for an old dude like me enjoying in the evening some decent table tennis at home. Great game indeed. Physics are actually very well designed. Of course you will never get it perfectly fine - maybe in 10 years ? -, but it already feels now very real. Actually this is one of those games where you after 15 minutes in totally lose yourself in the game. You actually think you can touch the table. You start building a relationship with your enemy and you want to catch the ball just with your hand instead of the controller. This game is pretty immersive and one of the best VR experiences I enjoyed yet. I recommend this table tennis simulator without any hesitation. And I am sure I will definitely come back to win the championship. So I got this on sale for $1.99. I can definitely recomend this game if you find it on sale. I think it plays well even though I think hitting the ball is just a little too sensitive (what I mean is that it seems you hit the ping pong ball very hard with just normal taps). This sensitivity makes serving more difficult than it needs to be. It feels like you're barely touching the ball to get an accurate serve. Anyways, I had fun. The AI is pretty good at giving you a challenge, depending on the difficulty you choose. I also like how you can move the table in three different ways to get a better look at the action. You can also move the tilt of your paddle. Sale price rating 7/10 great family fun for the price UPDATE 9/25 I should have put this on my original review. I played this on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers and the game played with no issues. I'm not sure why game doesn't add Oculus compatibility in the store page Also, the arcade modes are fun, but can be frustrating. Also the leaderboards are crazy (how did people score that high?)
If you're comparing getting a table tennis table and this get a table tennis table.
I was absolutely amazed at how accurate and realistic this felt. It was one of the first times in VR that I actually felt it realistically portrayed the motions of something. For 95% of people, this would probably be brilliant. But... I am quite a good Table Tennis player IRL. And the simulation for me was about 95% accurate. Unfortunately 95% just isn't quite good enough. It ALMOST, but not quite reacted to the way I expected every time. But it doesn't really get Spin right. You can tell Spin has been factored in, but it's just not implemented well enough, and any good TT player will use spin almost as second nature. I just can't bring myself to play it much more because it's so nearly there, but falls short. But honestly, for people who like Table Tennis but aren't really good players, this is amazing. To the developers - AMAZING job. If you can get Spin right, I will play this game non-stop.
Feels very much like real table tennis once you get used to the slightly different feel of it, which is that you can't hit the ball quite as aggressively as you can in real life, but it's not a huge adjustment to make. After about 3 hours of gameplay it feels natural and reminds me a lot of the real thing. The only frustrating things are the sudden bursts of power, i.e. you're going for a normal shot and the ball just flies too far with full power, seemingly for no reason. Not a huge problem in the first matches but when the AI gets tougher these 'glitch shots' kinda ruin the feel of an evenly matched game. Serves are often problematic too since they tend to go full power very easily. Other than that the serve mechanic is very nice in my opinion and feels natural despite it being one-handed. That and the AI hits the ball onto the sides/corners of the table a bit too often. I know this happens in real life too all the time but not this often :). All in all a very enjoyable experience. I don't really play a lot of games for hours on end anymore, but this feels like it could be one of those games. With VR games like this it's actually starting to feel like it's bridging the gap between games and real sports, this game (when the kinks are ironed out) isn't about who presses the keyboard or controller quicker, it's only about you and the racket. As such it's immensely more rewarding than games that only require you to press skill buttons consecutively.
Highly recommended! One of my most-played Vive titles. The tournament mode really is enjoyable and challenging. A few suggestions: 1) Please improve the BALL SOUNDS. They are quite bad (clackity clack) 2) Please lessen the AI doing edge shots on later levels of the Tournament as this has made me lose my finals all the time.
