Eh, it was okay I guess. You have 3 maps and 1 tutorial level. You shoot bow & arrow. It's okay maybe. I would say that The Lab - Archery is much better and also free. But this is also free, just nowhere near as good. Rate 5/10. Very close call, almost gave a negative. I wouldn't really recommend the download. I've played worse archery games though.

I played this little free beta on the Quest 2 via SteamVR and think it has lots of potential! The gameplay is smooth and menu selection is easy enough. I also appreciated how the sound of the targets appearing is dynamic, so you can quickly hear where a target that appears off-screen is (but this doesn't seem to apply to the Space level so much that I could tell). What it needs: [olist][*]The biggest problem with this game is that the bow's angle is only controlled by the bow-holding hand. The arrow-holding hand isn't factored at all into the bow angle; once you nock the arrow, you can move your bow-holding hand anywhere you want and the arrow will point in that direction, even if your rear hand is all over the place elsewhere. [*]Another change I would make would be a quick toggle for handedness. I wanted to alternate between my bow-holding hands, but I had to keep awkwardly going into the beginning tutorial midgame to do so. [*]The game modes need a ton of more customization, like picking a max number of rounds per session, etc. There is only one game mode, which is currently sort of a gentle, re-doable time attack, but I wanted more time to practice certain shots, so I'm hoping that there will be a "zen" game mode in which targets do not leave if they haven't been hit for a while; each target would stay up for as long as it takes until you hit it, and you would pick a time limit (X minutes of archery, customizable by the player) until the game ends and you receive your total score then. [*]I think targets should count if you hit them while they're retracting! [*]I'm assuming that there will be more levels, hopefully with farther-away targets, and with some targets lower than the player's position (like if you're at the top of a building or cliff, shooting down). [*]It needs more sound effects, like a nocking sound, etc. [*]The bow is... massive. It would be nice if we could choose smaller bow sizes.[/olist] That's about it. Despite these issues, I would still recommend at least trying out this title.
VR Archery is a VR archery game that was free at release and will be sold later. It did Not work on my HTC Vive system. Runs on the desktop only while i had launched it from SteamVR Home or the Play button on store page. Game was made only for Oculus Rift, and the dev said Valve Index and HTC Vive was Supported according to steam store page. Does Not work on Index also. Maybe if you have a Oculus Rift or Quest, try this game. But don't bother downloading or Buying this, if you don't have Oculus (Meta) gear.
This game has potential. This feels like a very early demo or beta though. The models and lighting look like something out of the early to mid 2000s. But I can't really fault the dev too much for this as it looks like it's just one person or a very small team, and those things are easy to look past. The biggest things holding this game back are simply quality of life things. When you launch the game, it opens a desktop window on which you need to click a button to start the VR portion. Most VR users start SteamVR and then launch games from the UI inside the headset. This requires using an overlay or navigating to one's computer or taking off the headset to fully launch it...which is very inconvenient. After that, there are some small gameplay issues. This is mostly with operating the bow. First, you have to bring your hands together to place an arrow and draw back. The range for this is pretty narrow though, and I found myself accidentally clacking my expensive controllers together. The more they clack, the more likely they are to break. And I don't really want that to happen. Second, and probably most annoying, when I pull back the arrow, it is very frequently loosed before I've let go of the trigger, meaning I've had no time to aim. And when I mean very frequent, I mean like 3 or 4 times out of 5. This makes hitting the targets incredibly hard. The last point I want to make is about the gameplay itself. Archery is fun. But in it's current state, the game does not offer much. Pick an environment, shoot the targets as they appear, see your score after the couple minutes. It's like one of those arcade shooter games. It's cool and fun, but it won't hold your attention for more than twenty minutes or so. There needs to be more to do. Simple competitive matches maybe, more objectives to try and complete. Just, more to do in general. This game is incredibly new, so I wasn't expecting a high level of polish. Nonetheless, it has great potential and I am excited to see where the dev(s) take it.
Before I played VR Archery, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
It's fun enough to keep it, but it's not archery. The aim of the bow is determined entirely by the position of one hand. You can draw to your chest and then shoot 90 degrees to the left or right with just a flick of the wrist. This might be acceptable for something like Skyrim that had VR tacked on as an afterthought, but for a game where the entire purpose is to be an archery range? Valve's "Lab" VR sampler has a more realistic archery game, sorry. I'll check back periodically, if it ever starts shooting like a bow instead of a weird pistol then it'll definitely be a recommend.
