Very nice game, addicting because it's fun and you really want to finish the levels. I would recommend it!!
I need the void
Fun addicting game while i wait for my queue to pop in faceit, missed 3 queue pops so far cause i was speedrunning this
Voidstepper is a slick, no-nonsense 2D platformer that hits hard with smart mechanics and clean style.
The black-and-white look isn’t just for show—it keeps things focused while the game throws tough puzzles and fast-paced challenges your way. Gravity manipulation is the star here. Jumping into the Void to flip physics and find new paths feels great, especially when combined with fully destructible terrain. Being able to carve your own routes or block lasers and turrets on the fly makes every level feel like a puzzle you can brute-force or outthink. The tight controls and open-ended level design also make it perfect for speedrunners who love breaking routes and shaving off seconds. Challenging, precise, and super satisfying when everything clicks, Voidstepper is a must-play for fans of skill-based platformers. I highly recommend this game.
Absolute banger of a game, best 2d platformer out there.
Don't let the lowfi graphics fool you. Game is solid and the combination of neat ideas works Excellent Platform mechanics, and I do like the novel menu. [strike]However, if I'm gonna grind the levels to do speed running, I need a retry "set" option, both at the end of the set and in the pause menu. And don't get me wrong, I want to do the achievement grind, but I don't know that I can grind the level select jumps on top of trying to grind the sets. [/strike] Absolutely yes. Now to grind the achievements!!
pretty cool game. the interactions with light/dark is interesting and leads to fun ideas. The only bad things i have to say is being popped up after void stepping can get you shot by a laser on accident, so be careful, as well as some of the final levels seemingly being a copy-paste from earlier ones with minor changes, as well as I forgot about the dash and was able to beat most of the game without it (I had to start using it when the gravity things were introduced)
muchos fun, brain brokens
Honestly, this isn't my type of game, and I really don't like it. The puzzles infuriates me and there is no "tip" system in figuring out how to solve the puzzles. The minimalistic "paint" graphics is also totally not to my liking, as it feels unfinished to me, but it is the design of the game. I only bought this game because I wanted to support a friend. (yes you Cyanide) That being said, Voidstepper is a challenging puzzle platformer game where you need to solve "out of the box" challenges to get to the exit. Sometimes requiring to pick up "atom" keys and avoiding deadly lasers, flying bombs and other weird lethal objects. The "minimalistic" design gives the game a chance to actual excel in what appears to contribute to the puzzle uniqueness and evolving difficulty. You'll have to figure out how to solve the puzzles and understand the mechanics of destruction the game presents to you. Soundtrack is a bit lacking, but for what it is, it's not a big deal. The game is recommended to be played with a controller. This will make the game much easier. Voidstepper isn't for the casual gamer in my opinion, but if you enjoy solving puzzles in a platformer setting, thinking out of the box solutions whilst avoiding/working with destructive environments, and you don't mind the minimalistic design, this game might definitely scratch an itch. And the price is very reasonable.
