A Qix-like arcade game where you defeat enemies by literally flying circles around them. Great soundtrack, very cool pixel art style, also pretty difficult. Try out Adventure mode first. It introduces new ideas gradually so the difficulty isn't so punishing. You unlock a longer line as you progress through adventure mode, but even that is a resource you can spend to unlock upgrades that let you adjust your playstyle (like a sonar item that lets you see power-ups under the ground, or a cycling item that keeps you from running out of line length). It also has a high-score-like mechanic that locks and unlocks your extra ship lives to push you to re-try levels until you can ace them.
schön retro - 4 farben rules! cooles konzept
Basically QIX with a ton of variables. Has roguelite elements in that each run has a slightly different enemy and powerup selection. One of the best GAME OVER screens ever that you will see a lot of. This game is a blast and arcade-y to the bone. Plays great on cabs and uses a single joystick and two buttons. Get it!
This is a hell of an arcade game. It'll test your wit and ability to think on your feet to keep moving forward, with a great retro feeling to a modern game. A++
The soundtrack is the best part of the game. Possibly inspired by that one computer game from the late 80s I can't recall the name of, Voidrun tries to present the player a slightly different approach to space shooters, but ends up slowing down the gameplay a tad too much. Imagine an archery game where you have to pick up every arrow you shoot. If that's your thing, then you'll love Voidrun. Still, it's a decently fun game and worth its price, just not something I would sing praises for. Given Steam's binary scoring system for reviews, I'm more inclined to choose "yes" rather than "no".
Absolutely fantastic core idea and design. Execution feels overly targeted to a very hardcore audience. I really like the game, but its simply too hard for me to get very far. If you like a epic challenge, this is an amazing game. :)
