In Viscera Cleanup Detail, you step into the boots of a space-station janitor tasked with cleaning up after various horrific sci-fi horror events. Instead of machineguns and plasma-rifles, your tools are a mop and bucket. That hero left a mess, and it's up to you to deal with the aftermath.

this is the best game ever made nothing will ever come close. I have had several dreams of new levels and have been obsessed for years i am also autistic
I've tried and failed to get into this game several times. When I'd make a mistake it would dawn on me that I could go actually clean something in my real house instead and I'd abandon the game, but I'm finally letting myself play and it's a fun chill game. Beware the Unreal 3 physics when stacking crates and carrying fully loaded bins, but otherwise I have nothing negative to say. Good game to zone out with. Game should run perfectly fine on whatever hardware you have in 2026.
I like it personally, but I can't recommend it to most people who expects this game to be like powerwash simulator looking to lower their cortisol. This game WILL stress you out unless you're a masochist like me.
i hate the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glitches. please fix the game i hate it sm its unplayable when its like that. i cant see what i pick, when i pick sum ♥♥♥♥♥, they do no clipping thing and gone forever
If I had to give it a rating from 1* to 5*, I would give it a solid 4* The game has a lot of content provided and the map designs are pretty solid in my opinion. The thing the game lacks is its easily broken. You'll find this when you're carrying multiple buckets at once, especially when 3 buckets full of water, anything full being brought up or down via elevator and when you're standing on top of a bucket. The mechanics of the game starts freaking out when you do this and it's very annoying. Would I recommend this game? Yes, I enjoyed playing this game while listening to new music or anything that doesn't exactly make me focus on the game entirely.
While the gameplay is hit/miss for people, it is heavily negatively impacted by the scoring system. To get an actual passing grade you need to not only clean up the enormous amount of mess, which takes about an hour by itself, but then you also have hidden mechanics like putting crates and barrels in specific areas standing upright, collecting a inserting the little employee tags and writing reports on them, and you also have to accurately keep a toll of every tiny thing like the amount of bullets picked up. Made a mistake? do the entire thing again. All that stuff ruins the game. It takes it from a sort of soothing experience of restoration, to an actual job.
A game that accurately represents the experience of signing up with a dodgy company - barest of onboarding schemes, will smack you for doing things wrong, and will have unseen people chide you for your performance at any level, from perfectly sweeping the stage to leaving a worse mess than when you started. They won't even give you a flashlight. It's not important. It's good fun, but it seems to revel in its lack of tutorialization - some things are easy enough to understand, like mopping, bins, water etc, but things like "turning props around", "filling wall/floor scars", and "secondary objectives" are only for weirdos who want to get more than a passing grade on their cleaning job. And this isn't even mentioning the "incident report" feature that I took one look at and decided "nah not for me" - they ask for a clean-up job, not reams of paperwork! 😤 Getting the achievements for this game is no easy task, though it's probably less of a hassle in multiplayer. Give this a go if you have a week to kill and love love LOVE the idea of cleaning up someone else's messes.
I expected much better, but the gameplay and physics are completely off. Trying to move body limbs into the bucket just glitched out and ended up making a bigger, bloody mess. Throwing players in with zero tutorial just makes a bad experience even worse.
my patented MAGNET boots will surely help me at my janitor job where there's ♥♥♥♥ all over the floor and buckets that spill blood everywhere...
