I wasn't feeling it that much at first but after a few levels this game gets really, really fun. The atmosphere and architecture is really cool, makes you feel like you're in Orwell's 1984. There seemed to be a bit of lore, or at least some hints, I was disappointed with the ending not really doing much, I don't know if they plan on releasing more levels or that was it. Much potential and it's GREAT for how cheap it is if you get it on discount
oh yeah

Holy heck the atmosphere, level design and simplicity of the mechanics are FUN FUN FUN
I felt compelled to leave a review. You can probably finish the main campaign in a few hours. But damned if it isn't a magical experience. A somber and solemn mood pervades this game to the core. You are alone, in a wasteland of unknown purpose. You must run. It's a game where as you play, you imagination will fill in the blanks. You will conjure up fantasies that shine light on the hidden parts of the game. There is so much freedom of expression and movement, the levels are so complex, and the signposting is so subtle but easy enough to follow. Everything has been tailored with a obsessive focus on game experience. It will test your reaction speed and your instincts, but somehow the challenge and test is entirely self administered... The soundtrack (soundscape may be a better word) deserves it's own paragraph as well. It follows you along, haunting, resonating, bubbling with bass and echoing with reverb, and then, it disappears. It knows exactly when to leave you alone with nothing but your thoughts, the sound of your footfalls and your breathing echoing across the concrete... If you are a fan of the Silent Hill soundtracks, or ambient projects like Desert Sand Feels Warm At Night you will love this, there is zero doubt. As far as I am concerned this is nothing short of a masterpiece. Likely to join the "video essay darlings" club of PC gaming.
spent an hour on the tutorial level probably going to spend a few more
Smooth and incredibly well tuned platforming game. Feels great to play and very atmospheric.
Vholume is an instant classic. It manages to be a tightly controlled first person runner combined with liminal spaces, creating a super fun, almost dreamlike experience. Throw in multiplayer and leaderboards, and you've got a game that both casuals and hardcore speedrunners will enjoy for a long time. At its low price, I strongly recommend playing it!
