Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/YUdNFb7QZRM I had fun playing this game. It starts out pretty slow. It's a very technical racer. I must have attempted the very first course after the tutorial about 10 times before I was finally able to conquer it. It does take some time to get acclimated to the steering controls. It almost feels like you're racing down a water slide where it's very easy to slide off. If you bump into any objects or slide off the course, then you die and have to restart from the very beginning. Your vehicle basically turns into 3 different modes of travel: one is your normal drift, the other is the aerial controls, and finally you have this mode where it basically feels like you're riding a jumping donkey. There is no hitting the gas or brakes. There are no time trials. Every race is just really an obstacle course where you just have to navigate to the end of the course in one try. After about 2 hours I was able to get done with the easy races and get into the normal difficulty races. The second course of normal is absolutely bonkers. Where you're not only going faster, but you're jumping a lot of platforms while trying to make tight turns. There are 10 Easy races, 7 normal, and 5 hard difficulty races. While your skill improves after each successfully completed course, the next course throws in a new level of difficulty usually and plus you also just have to memorize the course so you can take the best drifting path. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 frames per second, but I did experience some sporadic frame rate drops that were noticeable. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs, but there are two bugs for me to report. One is where your steering handle suddenly turns upside down. The other (which may not be a bug) is a blurry transition screen from the aerial portions. The graphics are not what I would call good. The cockpit view doesn't quite look right as it seems the scales are too big, plus it it just lacks a detailed view. The background sceneries aren't all that interesting to look at. However, the game makes up for it by having really fun courses to race, especially with the later levels. I also wasn't a big fan of the sounds or the music soundtrack. While this game isn't perfect, the gameplay makes up for any deficiencies. It's just fun to conquer these courses (especially after repeated failures).
Five Stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This is an Amazing racer and platformer combined together creating a most unique VR experience! It feels as though you're driving a mini hovercraft and you need to develop the feel for the drift. On some parts of the track It's like riding a bar of soap on a wet floor and on other parts it's like flying a zeppelin or a space ship. It can also feel like riding a robotic donkey jumping over gaps in the platforms. If you love driving and are able to imagine a unique combination of a racing and platformer game then just buy it, LOADS OF FUN! ( and worth the price in my opinion). Please remember this game is in It's 'Alpha stage' before you start complaining. Five stars from me! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

余所見ができるVR(というかHMD+顔振りでのカメラ操作)とドリフトは思った以上に相性が良い。
Impression Video with Commentary // Oculus Rift S // RTX 2070 Super: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKIwbCBjI-s My Quick Thoughts: A very unique and challenging racer that has platform elements. Your racer has the ability to morph into 3 different types of vehicles which makes for an original and "just one more go" element. It's not an easy game and it will take you hours to master your craft.
I always wanted a VR podracer style game and that is kind of what Velocity Vector is. With a pully strings method of control it is much like learning to control a horse with its reigns. While the game looks OK I guess it is almost everything else that lets it down. First up is the controls, it will take you a LONG time to get used to the controls, I am talking 30mins plus a least and that is with doing the tutorial, but to get good at the game you are probably looking at hours. Then there is the extreme nausea which will make even the hardest of VR legs crumble as well as the truly terrible in-game music. And for the last niggle I have to moan at the price given the content amount and the quality of that said content. There is simply nothing here to justify the price and nothing to make me want to recommend it (at the moment). I do think it has some potential, but it needs work before that is realised.
Wow.... that was... wow. It didn't start very well, my head would always pop up on the bottom of the craft so i had to play standing (feeling the irony in "this is a seated game") and pretty much every loading, from the menu to a game, from the game to the menu, took about 30 seconds, just showing a fixed black screen that made me think the game had frozen. Gave it a try anyway and... man this is boring. The craft is so slow, i got absolutely no fun out of it. It doesn't help that basically no work has been put into the sound design. The flight is totally silent, no engine or wind sound, anything that would allow you to get a feel of things moving around you. All you hear is this awful music, sometimes low budget Snes like, sometimes cheesy 90's dance, i don't know if it's supposed to feel nostalgic or what but it clearly doesn't do the job. And there's that stupid robot voice that uses catch-phrases straight out of early psone games such as "Is that the best you can do?" There's some potential here, but it clearly lacks half a year of development. I was surprised to see how fast it got out of early access and i now understand why.
Ship starts bouncing when you get to a part where you need to jump making it even more impossible to do than it already would have been, not even sure if it's a bug or a feature because the dev doesn't answer... ♥♥♥♥ game, don't waste your money on it.
Ok that rainbow effect when driving through portals need to go. It hurts my eyes to a new level. The drifting needs some extra work to feel fully responsive. I dont know what it is but after 15 min I started to feel nausea. I never felt this issue with even the most extreme vr games.
