About
Welcome to the Canis Major dwarf galaxy! We hope that your trip through the Great Gate was a safe one; many of the fortune-seekers that embark on this dangerous journey never make it this far. After all, an unauthorized jump of 25,000 light years through a heavily guarded artificial wormhole is bound to cause some issues – both technical and legal. Thankfully, now that you’re here, it’s time to get straight to business.
Choose your own playstyle
Combat: Fight enemies using a wide range of weaponry.
Mining: Scrape asteroid surfaces or blow them to bits to harvest their core.
Salvage: Discover and salvage derelict ships and wreckage.
Trading: Find the best trade routes. Buy low, sell high.
Play the game full screen or place it on the bottom of your desktop
You can let the autopilot play idle or take a more hands on approach.
Find and collect loot
You'll find powerful gear and rare items that allow you to push further into the sectors.
Buy and upgrade new ships
Choose from a wide variety of ships, ranging from small miners to large destroyers.
Dynamic NPC captains
From rival pirates and traders to helpful miners. Interact, ally, fight or avoid them.
Refine raw ore/salvage and craft your gear
Raw resources can be refined into materials. Use these materials to craft powerful gear to boost your ships and level up your game. Or sell them for a handy profit.
Level up your captain and hire crew
Pick from multiple skill trees and unlock powerful abilities or focus on becoming an industrial powerhouse. Crew with different professions provide passive perks and unique bonuses that enhance your skill trees.
Explore a vast, procedurally generated galaxy
Travel using the gate-network.
Story & dynamic missions
A wide range of different missions that will require you to diversify your ships.
Play Vanguard Galaxy full screen on a second monitor or place it at the bottom of your screen. It stays out of your way when you need to focus on something else (work, play another game, or watch a video). Engage the Autopilot and your ship’s ECHO system will complete most basic tasks on its own, with minimal input required from you.

You are let loose in a procedurally generated world where corporate interests clash with the galaxy’s established population. Pledge allegiance to one of the corporations, or stay neutral and forge your own path. The world reacts to your actions and builds its own storyline as you explore new systems and make a name for yourself.
Level up your captain and crew, and equip all of your space ships with top-of-the-line components. The deepest reaches of the galaxy may be savage and unpredictable, but with sufficient preparation you’ll be ready for any challenge it can throw at you.

Totally addictive. Super deep. Love it.
Great game started it as a idle but has drawn me in too playing it now still great that you can switch to idle when you need it i think this is well made and doing a great job and it only looks up from here.
A great game to just chill out to, no time pressures for missions and I love the music. I have found my self playing this after work as a great way to wind down. No bugs or issues experienced so far and its clear I have a lot of progression to go. Keep up the good work.
Chill space exploration/mining game with a great idle option.
Space? check Levelling? check Many ships? check Minning, salvaging, trading, crafit? check cross-galaxy faction war? check Idle leveling in reasonable mechanism? check my personal concern, while I love pixelart I sometimes feel off on graphics, and the bases, please reshape the bases they doesnt fit :( 9/10 will keep grinding, Steel Vultures 4 life!
This is such a great game, a dream come true. Good for idling as well as active play. It is like Eve 2d but much better, because there is no bullying, no pay to win, no real life loss... There is high variety of ships, mussions, equipment. For an indie title this one is a true miracle.
TLDR: awesome already and so much more to come - buy it! Long: A masterpiece in the making. You grind your way up via fighting , mining, salvaging and later trading. which all have their own advantages. SInce you are able to reset your skillpints you can play any of them when you feel like it an own the respectable ship type. Progression feels smooth and content is plenty. I am looking forward to many more of the announced features like ships, factions and so much more.
If you want to actively play a game for extended durations, not just let it run in the background, I wouldn't recommend this game. The combat isn't impressive or engaging, neither is the mining or salvaging. Many actions take a very long time that it becomes very tedious; things like docking, undocking, flying to a destination, etc. If you want a game you can theorycraft and run in the background, without really spending much time actively playing, this game is pretty good for that.
Great game! Reminds me of Space Pirates and Zombies a bit, but yet quite different. I love top-down space games like this!
Amazing chill game, just working towards a goal if it is a new miner, salvager or whaterver. There are so many things to do. All the things are worthwhile to do.
