The game sets out to offer interesting choices and thanks to its story it succeeds at that. However mechanics are fairly barebone, but very close to the tabletop. If you want to play tabletop VTM, but as a video game, this is for you. Otherwise there is nothing here. Still best on sale.
Game good. Perfect World of Darkness vibes and story. Also it let me be at the the center of a gay love triangle featuring a tech bro twink and a mafia boss that would unironically wear t-shirts with water color eagles on them.
Fun, thematic, and amazingly written. Picked this game up after playing Book of Hungry Names- this writer knows the World of Darkness and how to make it work as an interactive novel. Feels exactly like playing the TTRPG.
Freaking awesome game, its like playing a solo V5 chronicle. Love it

As someone really big into vampires, no experience with this kind of 'game' and some prior knowledge of VtM from Bloodlines, I really enjoyed this game. I was surprised at how engrossing I found it. It really feels like basically anything can happen based on your past decisions... moreso than most RPGs I've played, probably since they really thought of everything. Navigating balancing your personality, vampire powers, relationships and hunger is a really careful dance that is fun to do. You find yourself scrutinizing the options a lot and weighing them against what you know about your character and the person you're dealing with, to see if you can survive the situation. In the end on a first playthrough I had a fairly positive outcome; which is to say that I made myself relatively wealthy and didn't need to make a choice between one of the two primary "factions" (Prince Lettow and Julian Sims) that beckon for your help throughout the game. I basically played it where my character was principally concerned about survival and relative comfort and managed to make it to the end without getting killed by vampire hunters or another vampire, which I view as a pretty damn good ending.
Best VTM text based game
This game is fun but very difficult. I wish it had a save setting because I like it and want to finish it but the difficulty level is is kind of beyond my skillset.
