About

Valkyrie Saga is an indie, retro platformer styled after PSX classics, giving you a chance to embark on an epic odyssey! Play as Roll the Valkyrie, a divine warrior tasked by the gods with one mission: Stopping a floating island from crashing into the earth. Ascend the ancient skyborne land, explore ancient ruins, unlock their secrets - and stop the cataclysm!

Valkyrie Saga captures the original PSX with era-authentic visuals, a deeply immersive soundtrack, and gameplay that recreates the magic that defined a generation.

As the divine warrior, you'll have to master both the art of soaring across the skies across the plummeting island, and the way of the spear, confronting otherworldly foes!

Hidden among the ruins, cryptic scribblings, and odd twists of the world is a complex story to piece together, detailing what happened to the civilization that once occupied the island. Can you find out the truth before it is too late?

wont be great if you're expecting a deep 3d platformer but is very fun if you want an interesting exploration game. lots to find and lots more even deeper secrets beyond those
Great platformer with a cozy and soothing feel. I spent a lto of time exploring, the challenges were fun with a nice soft souls like feel. Made me think of elden ring many times, but for kids ? (In a good way)
Really fun movement system, and level design that means there is always multiple ways of getting past an obstacle. Would really recommend
haven't played for long but i think its pretty good brings me back to my childhood playing random stuff on the N64 i also like music verynostalgic i have to say tho the camera, even on highest sensitivity, is ass
fun retro 3d platformer
If You want a game that plays like mario meets kings field minus the difficulty, this is the game for you
jankiest platforming ever but it has its moments, i like it iffy performance tho
Fantastic game :)
OK some bug I've noticed that should be fixed, and a few things I'll suggest here but THIS IS A FANTASTIC GAME. Growing up with Spyro gave me a desire for platformers that are all about gliding and thinking about height and distance. This has been a hole in my heart since the last spyro game was released on the ps1. Since that time platformers have been obsessed with making 2d tunnels filled with spikes where you just memorize the correct direction. Valkyrie Saga not only has fantastic gameplay with very relaxed open ended exploration, world building is fantastic, the atmosphere is built on the moments of music, the characters, your mission, all together and they come together wonderfully. Now a few bugs I noticed that I'm sure will get fixed. There's a few parts right outside the dock that make Roll "stuck" when you Sprint through them. There's a few platforms that spawn doubles, not sure what triggers it, I've seen a few windmills that overlapp and leave no gaps between each other. The only recommendations I have is to allow Roll to cancel a slam because quite a few times I've been mid flight somewhere and the lightest press of my trigger started the slam undoing all my progress when climbing something. Then there's that one magic spell that seems to lock you on a certain path, while I love the dungeon and consequences I wasn't really prepared to go through with it and wanted to undo the decision. But once you cast the spell there's no going back, and since the spell button is so easy to press the second time was a complete accident...By then I rolled a new save and started over. Thank you for creating this. I hope to see more.
