https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3765160863
Maybe I'm missing something as I've only played 2 hours before getting bored out of my mind, but it feels like this is just an average story with some repetetive gameplay glued onto it.
Each day is split up into 2 sections:

Mining section:
Pretty average mining game, this is the part I have the least issues with as I like the genre in general (big fan of number go up -> upgrade -> number go up faster games). I didn't get a chance to check if the mining actually progresses in a fun way, as I only got as far as
Unlocking the first drill, which skips a large chunk of the level.
If you look past the beautiful art, this game would've been better as a clicker cookie style game in my opinion. There's no variety in the rocks (everything is mined at the same rate), there's no danegrous terrain, there's no failure state. If you can't lose, all that's left is a chore.
Shop section:
When buying this game I assumed there'd be some kind of managment in the main gameplay loop. Y'know, not many mining games actually require you to craft the ore into jewelry. But no, the whole "jewelry store" part of the game only functions as additional layers of stuff to do before you can turn the ore into money. The shop is built as follows: Entrance | Shelves accessible to customers | checkout | stairs | storage | bed (to end the day) At least for the first few days the only type of managment you'll do is running between the storage and the shelves to restock. The "loop" is built around the fact that you have a lot of storage and not that many shelves. This means that the day will start with you picking up a ring from storage (you have one "hands" slot where you can hold a SINGLE ring) 1. A customer will go in 2. Stare at the ring you have on the shelf for a solid lifetime and a half (while you're breathing down his neck) 3. Once he picks up that ring you rush to the storage to get another one. 4. By the time you got the ring, the customer slowly walks to the checkout section where you can actually sell him the ring. 5. By this time (hopefully) another customer walked in and you can start the process again. Note: You can uprade the number of shelves you have (I had 3 by the time I gave up on the game), but that doesn't change the loop one bit. You still run around the store like an idiot with a single ring in your hand. I would prefer if this part of the game actually had a loop that is something more than repeating the same squence of button presses while you wait to get your money.
TLDR:
Didn't like it, will probably come back to it someday to check if I was completely wrong about everything or not. The art is nice tho! If I turn out to be wrong, and the game gets better later on. I still think that the first part of the game should be exciting and hook the player in, and it didn't.
The other games were fast simple and fun progression. This game is mostly a tutorial, everything is locked behind a quest, Ugly NPCs, no text speed, almost all actions require chat with an NPC(not instant text).
I wanted to revise my review based on further playtime. The game does get better after you get through day 10. In the beginning there's just too much being thrown at you in the form of long dialogue. Yes, you can skip it, but then you're skipping the story; so I felt inclined to read. DO NOT use a controller for this game. It was not made with controller in mind. There's certain functions that are impossible to preform on controller and the mini-games just aren't fun with the controller. KB+M is a must if you plan to play. I've been a fan of mining games since I was playing Bolder Dash on my C64 in middle school. There's just something fun about digging treasure. The original Mining Mech fulfilled that itch perfectly. This game does not and it's unfortunate. Digging, mining and getting ore is almost a side job as your main focus is on running a store and fulfilling special orders from customers. As you mine you fill up a container of dirt that has limited space. Once you're out of space you can no longer mine stopping the fun. Then you produce jewelry and sell it in your store for a profit. You take those profits and buy upgrades. However customers aren't the smartest and they will spend time looking at every empty display. You'll find yourself wasting time as you wait for the last 1 or 2 items to be viewed and hopefully sold. Progress starts slow, but builds and I do like the progression. There's plenty to upgrade and after playing for a while and leveling the game opens up. However, when you start you'll be moving at a crawl and wondering if things get better. They do, just stick with it! This game also includes mini-games that are hit and miss. There's an automated option to just skip them once you've done it once, but the timers are long. The mini-games are the number one reason I do not recommend a controller. Some of the hit boxes are small and navigating can feel cumbersome. It's just a let down on controller. So overall, once you get past the non-stop story being thrown at you, you can finally mine for a while, before you have to quit and sit around in a shop waiting for customers to hopefully buy your merch. It's not bad, but it's just not as fun as the previous titles. If you haven't played any of the Mining Mech games I would say give one of them a try first. If you already have and you enjoyed them, then I think you'll find enjoyment here too. Just be prepared for what it is. It's not just about mining. I like that the Dev tried something different and expanded the genre, but I just do not really enjoy the direction.
Original Review
I really want to like this game, but the dialogue is a big hinderance. The game starts slow and there's a lot of millennial writing. Every action you do brings up more dialogue, then more, and more. I just want to mine and play the game. I'm pushing through it because I've enjoyed the other games from this Developer, but if you haven't tried their games before, then go for a different one and put this on the wishlist
A solid mining and crafting game. Eventually you can start automation and then it is mostly mining and selling jewelry with some shop updates, Lots of biomes to discover, a decent story.
nice and cozy
Pacing just didn't feel as good as the other games from this dev. After the initial novelty it just felt like a grind but there was still so much to go. Also a lot of long repeated animations and waiting that just didn't help in keeping me interested.
