VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action

This game builds the most [i]real[/i] world I've found in a video game. It's characters feel three-dimensional and you build real (feeling) relationships over the course of the game. I played through it one in-game day per real-life day, and I think that's the best way to experience it. It meant that I felt time passing like the characters and was delighted to see regulars return to the bar and catch up. I also need to mention the world building which is on another level. The world of Glitch City is gripping and varied and the way the game treats it just as a place without drawing attention to itself is probably what makes it so convincing. The characters already live here, they're used to it, so it just... is. And you can feel that. You can feel that these characters aren't from the real world, from the minds of real people, they feel like they fit this world and the cultural nuances that define it. It's masterful character design work, with a real attention not just to the character's visual design and personality, but also what kind of society makes them who they are.

This game is amazing, love the cyberpunk feels! It hits different when it comes to relationships, regret, and life. The characters are so fun, plus the gameplay is simple but super enjoyable. Honestly, everyone should give it a try just for the story and characters alone.
