Usagi Yojimbo: Way of the Ronin is a new, old school game based on the classic Dark Horse Comic Graphic Novel by Stan Sakai, and seen in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles over the years. This is an old school, simple, fun Retro brawler done in the vein of the classic TMNT Stand Up Arcade game.

Mobile ports are all well and good.... ...except when they're this clunky and half-assed. -Garbage controller support. -Sluggish. -Repetitive button-masher, and just plain not that fun. -There's nothing fun, or even remotely challenging here. -Game is ridiculously short. -Laughable enemy variety, and pointless boss battles. -Useless special attacks. -Not even any achievements to hunt or cards to drop to even somewhat redeem this crap-fest. Final Update: I just beat the final boss. That's right, the whole game is 2 hours long... and not even a satisfying 2 hours. That even includes the boss glitching out twice, and me replaying it 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ times, the one bonus level, and taking a break to feed my dog.... If you want to recreate the experience of this game for free, just hammer buttons on your controller randomly for two hours. I was really looking forward to this, and jumped on it because I love the comics. I wish I'd done more research beforehand. Not worth the price at all. Why did I finish this?
If you’re a Stan Sakai fan and you want to spend a little time playing pretend Usagi? Buy this game on your phone. Even as a big Yojimbo fan, I can’t in good faith tell people to buy the pc version of this mess. Everyone else? There are better ways to spend 4,99.
4:3 aspect ratio + inability to quit game + no spoken dialogue = Sub-par brawler for die-hard Usagi Yojimbo comic fans. Recommended because I am one of those. For the price it's not bad and you'll get your $5 worth. It reminds me of Fist of Jesus in terms of modern gameplay and quality of game.
A giant bucket of disappointment. :( Terrible controls, bugs galore, Ai is awful, flat graphics with shoddy animation, just mindless dross. The old c64 game is a billion times better, this just stinks of an amateur team with a great license.
There's no "exit" option in the menu. You have to shut it down through task manager.
Like they said, an uncomplicated retro brawler a la Double Dragon or TMNT. Nothing fency like Mortal Kombat, less violent and good for younger audiences and like the wonderful comic series recommended to those who enjoy Sakai's art and story telling and who don't need enemies being stripped of their spines or needless other gore fests. I got my fun out of it for that price.
Commodore64. Usagi Yojimbo: Way of the Ronin - это тот самый ремастер.
i can't really recommend this game unless you're getting it for a young child. the game is short (1.5hours for me) and really REALLY easy. there is also no exit button and i ran into a few glitches. most were not game breaking but one of the bosses vanished from the screen and never came back forcing me to leave then try it again. when the game is this easy and levels are over in 3min it's more of a inconvenience than a hassle though. if you're a Yojimbo fan and don't mind pathetically easy levels go for it but for anyone else i can't see them enjoying this.
I wanted to like this game, it's Usagi Yojimbo! But no, the combat is super weak, not enjoyable at all nor does it flow well. I will be asking for a refund.
The game isnt entirely horrid but I can only recommend for Usagi fans only. The best thing about the game is the art but the combat/ai is horrid, unegaging and its almost impossible to die. Its a pure masher and most of the time the enemies are too dumb to even get on the same line as you to attack you properly and are no threat. Gameplay sucks basically and overall this manages to be worse than the C64 game released in the 80s. Waste of the stellar art.
