Untale: King of Revinia

Only if you like wasting time. Do you get confused by similar names, like "Maro" and "Nero"? Have trouble remembering a cast of ~8 characters that all get dropped on you at once? How about trying to remember not only the character's first name, but last name as well? I hope you remember everything, because the characters are often referred to by last name only or first name only, and never both unless you're talking to that character. Maybe the character gets introduced to you as Lord Wiles, but then everyone else keeps referring to some guy named Walter and you don't know who the hell that is. Well it doesn't matter cause you better step it up sonny. Now you need to remember every small fact that goes with each character. Let's take [spoiler]Bedivere Lessing[/spoiler] as an example. Choose one of the following: [spoiler]Bedivere's ancestors contributed to the foundation of one of the towns, Bedivere's dynasty has seen only three generations, Bedivere's dynasty has its origin in one of the kindoms frequently visited by Walter.[/spoiler] Well I hope you remember which it is, because there is another choice between 3 options right after this, and then ANOTHER choice of 3 after that! They all look similar and you don't know which is the right answer? Well damn I guess you better google it, maybe someone posted the walkthrough. There's nothing? Okay just check the steam forums, I bet someone posted a guide. No guides either?? Uh... check youtube? Nothing THERE either??! ... Uh, I guess post on discord or twitter and pray not to get flamed for being an idiot and/or posting spoilers. Other than that you're SOL man, sorry. I mean you *could* try all 84 combinations. I guess. That should be fine, except that the choices change position every time, which means you have to read the text every time, remember which one you just tried with what.... Well like I said, you're [b]really good[/b] at this kind of thing, right? And thus ended what had been up till now an enjoyable experience. Apparently I've got too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a memory to deserve to progress any further. No hints, no looking at my journal of the previous days, no nothing. As a bonus I will also have no idea how the story ends or where it went from here. Yep sure was great to waste my time on this for absolutely nothing. [h1]TLDR: Buy a different game.[/h1] There are plenty of mystery games that won't have you looking like a madman with a bulletin board and red yarn trying to remember every tiny thing. Or whatever, buy this if that's what you're into.

Новелла вроде и даёт игроку право выбора, а вроде потом и оказывается, что единственный способ куда-то продвинуться — идти по протоптанной разработчиками дорожке (да-да, вечер пятого дня, я о тебе). Личность главного заговорщика раскрывается довольно рано — ради создания сиюминутного вау-эффекта сценарист решил всё (или почти всё) проспойлерить (да-да, вечер пятого дня, я снова о тебе). Серьезно, вечер пятого дня наносит [b]серьезнейший[/b] ущерб дальнейшему повествованию. Эвент и упрощали, и меняли, но единственным способом сохранить интригу и возможность игроку самостоятельно принимать решения всё же видится его полное удаление. Сама же новелла очень добротная, любителям детективов определённо придётся по душе (по крайней мере, до пресловутого пятого дня). Атмосфера дворцовых интриг и подковёрных игр передана отлично, [strike]способов умереть[/strike] концовок очень много. Музыка отличная, мини-игры — присутствуют, хотя можно было спокойно обойтись и без них. Сопоставление "улик" и выбор речи на суде зачастую кажутся нелогичными, а кнопки "пропустить" нет. Даже со всеми своими минусами новелла определенно заслуживает похвалы. Разработчикам удалось создать интересную историю и заставить сопереживать главному герою. А если новелла вызывает эмоции — это хорошая новелла. [spoiler]К тому же, ру-разработчиков нужно поддерживать, их и так у нас немного :)[/spoiler]

Medieval setting is my cup of tea, no doubt. I like all the stories which describe castles, nobility and tournaments. This one meets all my criteria concerning medieval plots. Pros: + well-thought story with a lot of sidelines + diverse characters + very detailed arts + "true-to-life choice influence" (I describe it below) Cons: - I don't like the music (It makes me bored) But it's the matter of taste P.s. "True -to -life choice influence" The thing is that you don't see the consequences of your choices immediately. You have to spend more time playing just to understand how your choices contribute to the storyline (Like in real life, you know). Sometimes you make "wrong" decisions and you die. But I truly liked it. This game is for those who prefer thinking to blind-clicking on the choice options.

First of all: I bought the game long after it was released, although it was on my wishlist, and at a big discount. It is a visual novel with very pleasant graphics and an acceptable soundtrack. But it is not a fairy tale! Your true purpose in this game is to (as the game title hints) [b]un[/b]tale the fairy tales told by one of the characters to uncover the true (hi)story of Revinia and not to write your own "happy ever after". A story which, I have to admit, I didn't like at all. Not because it is bad written, far from it, but because it is just - at least from my point of view - sad, unworthy and "not fair" [spoiler]The king must be blind with love to marry Erlene after all of this and to live a life that has no other meaning than her.[/spoiler]. So try to distance yourself from the player character; he is not you after all. A lesson I learned while playing it, but should better be teached before playing it. The many tales and the one true story will show you the many facets of human (mis)behavior and are frighteningly realistic (and mostly logical [spoiler]As said marrying Erlene is a decision only a person in love can possibly "understand". For a machiavellistic mastermind like Norbert Kollas it is furthermore not plausible to allow the last king to have offspring and deprive his son of a bride like Erlene; or is Norbert just human(e) in the end? He still remains unlikeable.[/spoiler]) in it. There are many harsh topics you won't like if you're of mild-mannered nature. On the downside there are some untranslated fragments in the game dialogue and I didn't like the attitude towards some of the female characters. But all in all and counting the big discount in, it was worth playing it.

Пришло время оставить отзыв и на эту прекрасную игру. Если вкратце, игра заслуживает того, чтоб в неё поиграл каждый любитель ВН. Сюжет захватывает: ощущение, что читаешь книгу, где твои действия решают, какая страница перевернётся. Но самое главное - история имеет глубину. Персонажи, антураж, рисовка - все месте создаёт очень приятное впечатление. Это игра для тех, кто готов подумать: не только над выбором, но и над самим сюжетом. Ставлю 10/10

Начну с того, что игра мне очень понравилась своим интеллектуальным наполнением. Для визуальных новелл - редкость. Особенно мне понравились сюжетные повороты: да, здесь действительно нужно внимательно следить за тем, кто и что говорит, чтобы не оказаться в «затруднительном положении» (не умереть) Отдельно хочу отметить графику: атмосфера превосходная и персонажи прорисованы великолепно. Качество игры заслуживает высшей оценки Нет сомнения, она достойна прохождения!

Давно меня ничего так не бесило, как Вальтер Вайль.

Однозначно рекомендую. Великолепное повествование. Буквально лучшее, что я видел в своей жизни. Визуал, будь то бэкграунды или персонажи прекрасны. Намного привлекательнее, чем в большинстве визуальных новелл, которые даже не стараются над этим.

Одного часа было достаточно, чтобы оцeнить игру по дoстоинству. Рекомендую игру к прoхoждению, хотя бы ради гАрячей королевы.
