A simple, average game for one evening. Its main problem is that this is the last project from the developer that I can rate as at least somewhat decent. Redsroll has a recognizable style (you can see it right away) but that’s also exactly where the issue lies. Despite the low budget and overall simplicity, the game feels very similar to the previous one, even with the change in theme. The developer really needs to think about how to grow, whether that means a clearer, more well-written narrative, more interesting locations, or maybe voice acting. Right now, the project feels almost identical to the earlier ones, and that’s not doing it any favors. About the translation: please, translate using GPT with context. Nobody will judge an AI translation, but it will be miles better than what the game currently has. The Russian translation is terrible. There is attention to detail, but the locations are extremely bare: all those endless gray corridors with dim lighting are just totally forgettable, trust me. I won’t say anything about the mannequins - maybe the dev really likes that aesthetic, and I respect that, but here they feel like an overused cliché rather than something that adds to the game’s uniqueness. I did like the camera sections and the puzzles, those were done well and helped smooth out the overall impression a bit. But the project feels like it lacks cohesion. I can recommend it if you liked the developer’s previous works. Otherwise... Redsroll, please evolve. Don’t stand still.
Hands down one of the best $5 USD indie horror games I have ever played. This game took me a little over 1 hour to beat with all steam achievements. My first impression when I started the game was "oh no not another game with these low quality, grainy graphics". Personally I don't enjoy games with graphics like this one as for me the visuals are a huge part of my enjoyment factor. I did never quiet get over that feeling all game but there was a lot of details in the world of the game that made it feel better. I did have 2 times i tabbed out of the game during loading screens and the game froze and I had to reload from the last checkpoint so try not to tab out of this game. The audio was pretty good. The sounds throughout the game enhanced my experience. I am not a fan of having to read the storyline in games I would rather hear it through voice acting but this game had a good story that I was enjoying the whole time. Just make sure to click and read everything that you can to get the full experience. The gameplay was basic but didnt feel clunky. If you find yourself in pitch black dark try the "f" key as many times you need that to use your lighter or flashlight. I enjoyed the puzzles and using the camera and setting up the lights at the crime scene. The controls where simple yet efficient. This game is very scary and the atmosphere almost never lets up which kept me on the edge of my seat. Lots of jump scares and even a chase scene where you have to run t not get caught. The wooden faced mannequin is freaky and shows up several times! Lots of phycological horror elements are use very well in this game. Overall this is one of the best indie horror games I have played in a long time and I give it a 5/5 star review. It would have blown my mind if the graphics had been made in say unreal engine or a professional engine like that but then this game probably would not be $5 USD. This game was great and i would like to see what the dev comes out with next. The biggest challenge will be to follow it up with something just as good or better.
Wasn't my thing. It wasn't really scary, since it's a walking sim and all the places you are going through are tiny and narrow, so it's pretty much always clear that there will be no situation where you'll have to run or hide or something (i have to admit, i was wrong with that assumption at the very end of the game at least - there is 1 running sequence). Most jumpscares where predictable. The character is walking as slow as a 90 year old granny on a walker and there are more blackscreens in this game than in all the games that i have ever played together. There is some little story, but it's uninteresting and not detailed at all. It's your typical "experiments/ rituals on humans went wrong" story. But without any further explaination why, by whom etc. Short "experience" as well. Cannot recommend, sorry.
Bit of a mad one this. Seems a little disjointed but its got excellent atmosphere, creepy in parts.
I struggled to get into it honestly, it just felt like another UE5 slop-genre and felt like almost no real effort was made to make it standout from others like it. Want to progress; grab item, do task, move on. It relies too heavily on camera-mechanics that's overdone lately and cheap jumpscares. Nothing but read-text and complete task. The only thing I can say about this game is; good atmosphere but it felt repetitive and dependent on UE5. Relaly did just feel like a walking simulator with a few 'scary' elements. Nothing unique about it at all.
1 hour game. Decent game but leaves something to be desired. Also a strange amount of black screen in this game. Temper your expectations, but worth a play.
