I have mixed feelings about this game. It is a point-and-click puzzler in the style of a Rusty Lake title but lacks the macabre elements that make that franchise so engaging. Simple artwork, still scenes with occasional animation, and a brief storyline. This is complemented by soothing background music and nicely done narration. The story is familiar. You receive a letter and a key in the mail and proceed to a location to solve a mystery. Unknown Ravenfield is a small environment with less than 10 primary scenes to explore. You move between scenes by clicking on directional arrows and items of interest are indicated by a change in the cursor. Inventory is easily accessed and examined, and items are used by dragging and dropping. A brief tutorial is provided when you start a new game. The initial puzzles are straight-forward and then the difficulty level increases. There are several mechanical puzzles, including a slider (which is my least favorite). Most require interpreting patterns to find codes or retrieve keys. I did not find the clues intuitive at all, despite a full solution walkthrough posted by the developer. Usually, I am challenged by obtuse puzzles. In Unknown Ravenfield, I felt set up to fail. The game took the developer 30 minutes to solve on YouTube. For me, it took almost 4 hours. Perhaps I am less smart than I would like to think, because I gave up and watched the walkthrough for several puzzles. Achievements are all story related and finishing the game results in a perfect score. There is no menu. The game is played in a window which can be expanded to full screen. Your progress is auto saved on exit. You exit the game by closing the window. The story concludes within the game but leaves a path open for future installments. I admit that I remain a bit lost on some of the details in the ending. However, without a way to reload the final section, I am not willing to replay the entire game for clarification. If you enjoy challenging point-and-click mysteries that are a tad light on story but heavy on puzzles, then Unknown Ravenfield may be just right for you. Adventure game, puzzle, pastime, dark. PLOT "Pandemic" is a novel written by the author Vincent Marlow that becomes reality. In the disturbing village of Raven Field, 4 people have disappeared: Olivia, James, Emma and Lium described in the novel, is it just a coincidence? Sofia following memories of her childhood in a house with a blue roof, faints, when she recovers she understands that she has lost part of her memory and her brother has disappeared. Vincent Marlow receives a letter from Sofia and a photo of Noah, the girl asks for help to find her missing younger brother, invites him to go to Raven Field. This almost deserted village hides secrets, while trying to talk to the strange inhabitants, looking for clues and solving puzzles to understand what happened to Noah and Olivia, she comes across dark events that are revealed. What happened to Raven Field? GAMEPLAY First episode of a mysterious adventure in the style of "Rusty Lake" based on puzzles, objects to find and use in the right way. The music is suitable for the theme of the story and a repetitive and disturbing soundtrack. The story is interesting and makes you curious to find out what happens. The puzzles are easy and logical, while others are really difficult and it is hard to understand the clues to solve them, if you get stuck in the "Community Hobby" there is Hint video. Having played the entire Rusty series this episode did not disappoint me it is well made, we wait to see how the story continues in the next episodes.....
I found the puzzles very difficult and without any guidance. I could not aunderstand the logic behind them even though i tried following a walkthrough. Stopped playing afte half an hour.
Clear guidance makes the whole experience smooth. Most puzzles are pretty easy, but a few might get a little frustrating. If you enjoy puzzles, I totally recommend giving this a try.
Escape room-style gameplay but with hard puzzles that want you to observe every little detail. In this moody, narrative-driven adventure game, you’re placed in the shoes of a troubled writer whose fiction turns terrifyingly real. It starts with an epidemic, then descends into a series of murders that unfold exactly as described in his book. Forced into hiding, the protagonist is drawn into a mysterious town—one that seems to hold the key to everything that's gone wrong. The story sets up an intriguing premise, but don’t expect a satisfying resolution just yet. This is only the first part of a larger tale, and while it delivers some answers, it ends with another location where you might learn more. Gameplay-wise, this title fits squarely into the escape room/adventure game genre. You’ll explore a series of static, first-person scenes by clicking on directional arrows, moving scene to scene, uncovering clues, and solving puzzles. Interaction is handled through unmarked hotspots—your cursor will subtly shift to a hand icon when you hover over something important. Clicking zooms in, lets you interact, or pick up items, which are stored in a classic point-and-click inventory system. The real meat of the experience is the puzzles. They range from straightforward to obscure, often requiring careful observation and thinking. Hints are minimal, usually appearing only after multiple failed attempts or not at all.
