It really seems to do a lot right, but for me it felt lots. I played for 35 minutes total and had one long run, and at no point did I feel any sense of challenge or really satisfaction. I realize I'm playing on easy mode because that seems to be the only mode that's unlocked at first, but it just wasn't fun. You are put in an infinite 2D space, and you run around and aim. Specters race to crash into you, they just nibble away at your health. Little Wizards that shoot flame blobs appear. I fought and destroyed a giant multi-segment worm. After a while I'm just going like.... My health is infinitely regenerating, as long as I just manage my dash and secondary weapon timings, I can't lose. My hands are starting to hurt because the onslaught of the specters is relentless. I think in the end after I write this review, I realize it's the relentless nature of the game, the fact that there's no heft or weight to anything and it's just nibble damage, there's no real strategy, nearly everything just face-rushes you and you rush backwards and time your shots. It grew wearisome very quickly.

I could describe this game as travelling to an exotic place, as in I'll probably never play it again, but it didn't leave me with a negative experience. As somebody in the reviews said, the biggest challenge here is the plague doctor. The game is very unfinished. The robot character, imo, should have some sort of healing, even if it's a small one, for example, a deployable supply box that is located somewhere on the map, and there's an arrow pointing at it. I wish the best for the devs, it's good that I decided to play it after getting it back in October.
