About
Uncanny Tales is an episodic horror game where the scariest things aren’t monsters or the supernatural — they’re people themselves. Each story is a new chilling episode, inspired by real-life fears and disturbing situations.
Uncanny Tales: 1992 — Episode Two
Anton, a 14-year-old teenager, moves with his parents to a small provincial town. There's no time to settle in — his parents leave on business, leaving him alone in his grandmother's old apartment.
Meanwhile, a true nightmare unfolds in the town. Over the past few months, more than ten children have gone missing. Schools are closed, streets are deserted, and the police are powerless. People are afraid to let their children outside, but the disappearances continue...
Immersed in the unsettling silence of an unfamiliar home and empty streets, Anton begins to notice oddities. Rustling behind the walls, someone's gaze from the darkness, random encounters that only heighten the fear. Something is brewing in this town — and it's no longer clear who is a friend and who is the true evil.

If you're a fan of horror games, you'll immediately recognize what to expect just by looking at the visuals. The slightly grainy graphics perfectly complement the unsettling Soviet setting and create a strong atmosphere from the very beginning. You first play through a prologue, where you learn that someone is kidnapping young boys. The main story then puts you in control of a kid named Anton, who has just moved to this town with his parents. The controls are simple and stick to the standard first person formula. You can walk around, explore, and interact with objects. Nothing is highlighted with waypoints or visual markers, but when you get close enough and point the cursor at something important, it gains a white outline and displays an interaction prompt. Inspecting objects lets you examine them more closely, often revealing descriptions or additional information. If you find a document or another readable item, pressing the interaction button again opens the text in a clear, easy to read format. It's worth taking the time to read these because they add plenty of background details and flesh out the story. Most objects cannot be picked up unless they are required for your current objective, so there is no inventory management to worry about. Talking to other characters starts conversations, and occasionally you'll get to choose a response. These dialogue options don't have any real impact on the story, so they're mostly there for flavor. The voice acting is in Russian, which does a great job of reinforcing the setting. One thing I noticed, however, is that the voices are much quieter than the rest of the audio, especially compared to the sudden and very loud jump scares. This seems intentional, particularly since the game only includes a master volume option instead of separate sliders for voices and sound effects. The game takes place across just a handful of locations, including a small apartment, the apartment building staircase, and the park outside with its garages, a store, and little else to explore. You'll move between these areas as the story progresses, but your objectives are never displayed on screen. Instead, you have to pay attention to Anton's comments in the subtitles to know where to go next. If you miss one of these lines, it's easy to wander around for a while wondering what you're supposed to do. Fortunately, the areas are small enough that getting back on track doesn't take long. The entire experience is also quite short and not very memorable. In fact, it would be even shorter if not for the stealth sections near the end, where getting caught forces you to replay the entire sequence. There are two missable achievements, and although the game doesn't include chapter replay, it's short enough that going back to unlock them only takes a few extra minutes.
game looks good graphics and everything the story is pretty nice not easily predictable but the "uncle" has very weird walking scheme he needs more random movement and there are glitches where he can see you when you are in closet or he doesn't see you when you are infront of him over all its a fun quick game 6,5/10
imenno xyeta
Not much of a game here. Just some walking around the same area, one tiny apartment, doing menial tasks and talking to a couple of characters. Then a brief stealth run and it's over in about 30 minutes. I appreciate them going for the creepy vibe, but there just wasn't a game here. Hope they get better.
