Purgatory -NARAKU-

A small indie horror game made with RPG Maker, but it knows exactly what matters most in horror: atmosphere.

Its a great remake! I hope Purgatory 2, X and 3 comes to Steam

I played this a few years before it was on steam and was happy it got a re-release on steam. However, it's missing some of the gameplay. There was a lot more to this game and it seemed like a lot of it got removed and I'm unsure why. Ending 3-7 probably reference the second game but there's no real context (unless you get the baton ending) to figure that out so it felt random and boring to play through. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you play the nonsteam version of this game

Can't believe Purgatory came out 8 years ago and the second 5 years ago. I am happy too see you return Nama to continue working on these games. I am even more happy to see the first get a remaster, it is super well done and still very enjoyable. I look forward to Purgatory 2 NARAKU, or the remaster. Of course, thank you for making this game and putting it on steam so I can buy it and give you money. Really thank you for making this, I love the story and the lore it is fun. Also, totally hoping for more romance with Enri and Ebel, is nice.

Fun and simple horror jrpg with a mute girl as the mc (which is very rare these days) trying her hardest to survive in a place filled with bodies of those who were unlucky. Puzzles are very simple only needing to know one or two things and the rest clicks together. Had a lot of fun getting all the endings as they are all unique in their own way. Can't wait for Purgatory 2 to come to stream/get a remake.

I need the third one now... I also miss the old sprites cheers to the new age :p

Pretty good remake which expands the lore from the original, enhanced art style and teases a potential remake for Purgatory 2.

The first half is a decent atmospheric puzzle-solving game, but the second half just switches you to a different protagonist with a zero-gameplay lore dump that has nothing to do with the first part. A mediocre JRPG at best. Also, you will be disappointed if you're expecting Ecchi or Ero-Guro.
