About
You know, when you explain an idea, the idea fundamentally changes.
UNBEATABLE is an anime-juiced rhythm adventure where you (figuratively) destroy on stage while you (literally) destroy on stage. During rhythm gameplay, you only need two buttons: a button for up and a button for down. Simple to understand! The complicated part is doing it. Try not to get destroyed yourself.
Half the game is walking around and taking things at your own pace. The other half is trying to keep up with ours.
The pink-haired girl is Beat, and she is you, and you have a lot of things to worry about. The cops are everywhere, and they are mad at you for what feels like no good reason. Though it doesn't help your case that you keep making friends with people that the cops are mad at for slightly better reasons. But what do I know?
Talk to people, help them out (or don't, I'm not your mom!), play huge concerts, and punch cops. And then run away from the cops you punched. Also there are monsters or something. Not sure what's going on there?!?!
All of this culminates in massive setpieces where everything is at stake. The music got you here. It'll get you through it.
*if this was 1999 this section would be called "talk the talk and rock the rock"
UNBEATABLE's full arcade mode is an entire game by itself with its own progression system and a full online component. There's modifiers, tons of songs (with more to come!) and a whole challenge board to beat, with things to do that range from as simple as "beat a song on easy mode" to, one may presume, something as complicated as "solve an ancient riddle while skateboarding." That's not a real example.

FEATURES:
Story Mode: 6-8 hours. Arcade Mode: UNLIMITED
Characters that hate you!
Maybe also some that don't!
The arcade mode has a cute little profile you can customize and unlock stuff for and I think that's pretty neat
Graphics! We'd describe them but I mean it's right there, you can see it
A whole entire double album worth of original songs
plus acoustic versions of those songs
oh and also remixes, too
You can unlock all the songs by playing the narrative OR just by playing the arcade game exclusively! Great for those who truly hate stories
Something (in this game) will make you feel something (in real life)!
It's anime
If you think about it, QTEs are basically just rhythm games with no music
Please, whatever you do, the title is either all caps or no caps. Be kind to us.
And the idea changes you in return.

I bought the game on sale, but after playing it, I realized that, I wouldve also spent the full price. It's genuinely a piece of art, the ambience is great, the graphics are unique and beautiful to look at. Finally the story is really good and you kind of develop a link with every character. The only slightly negative thing is how the difficulty on the beatmaps in the story mode can sometimes jeopardize your immersion because theyre pretty hard for someone who isnt really a sweat (esp for beatgames on keyboard). Sooo you probably die a bunch of times and have to restart the song before actually progressing in the story. „But you could just turn your difficulty down“ Yeaa you could.. but then the beatmaps get boringly easy, which is not really better... On the other hand, retrying a song multiple times and finally getting it at some point is pretty rewarding, so if you like this stuff (or just dont suck at beatgames), this game is for you! Love it 9/10
im beating it
to think that this game would never shake me but it did, a character design that caught my eye and quite literally shake me with the story, obviously
Super recomendado. La historía es espectacular, la musica, y el estilo artístico son un 10/10. este juego está hecho con demasiada pasión y amor, se nota a metros.
a beautiful game where music's illegal and you do crime
They keep selling me Jamie Paige content and I keep buying it....
I Tire of the bitter part of the chocolate, but at least it was chocolate.

The arcade mode is fantastic and is well worth the price alone. The music is loud and a joy to play. You can get a demo of the mechanics with their preview game "UNBEATABLE [white label]", though I'll note I enjoyed the track selection in the full game quite a lot more. The story mode is a bit rough around the edges. There's several small things I could complain about, but it definitely tells the story it sets out to tell. It is intentionally conveys the emotion of feeling untethered, lost, and a bit angry. The art direction is great and there's several catchy songs (which are also then playable in the arcade mode). It is overall good and I'm glad to have played it, but it doesn't feel as polished as it potentially could be. I'd guess that the 10 hour story mode will end up being a small portion of my eventual play time due to the fantastic arcade mode though, so don't let that dissuade you from picking up the game if you enjoy rhythm games.
