Uagi-saba is one of those games that makes the world better for existing. It has such an amazing art style that has been expertly hand painted and is unique to this awesome developer. There is an great amount of depth to the games mechanics but its easy enough to get going once you understand the basics. The mystics are incredible and the genetics system is really unique. The sound and music is also extremly well made and adds to this immersive and relaxing game. You can tell that the developer loves this game and that is always a pleasure to see. I have watched this game being developed over several years on the developers Twitch channel and its amazing to play something I have been following with such interest for so long. I strongly recomend this game and cannot wait to play the finished version. Support a great developer and buy this game.

The first thing I need to say is that I am pretty close with this project and the developer, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I do honestly believe this game is great. I've watched the developer pour so much time and effort into this game, and it really shows. It's a blend of resource management with creature breeding, and boy are the creatures cool. The creatures all look so amazing, and you can breed them for their aesthetics as well as other genes such as total age, hunger and thirst consumption, intelligence, etc. The breeding in the game is pretty deep and it adds another layer of challenge to the game. The game looks great, is fun to play, and the satisfaction of hatching and raising a mystic is fantastic.
So... I just got off the game after an hour and I'm still not quite sure how to describe my experience with it. Just think a 'dafuq' expression of that one Professor Snape meme and you would get the gist of how I'm doing about now. So where to start? I've been looking for a game like Uagi-Saba for a while. A game where you can interact and have a grand ol' time of raising and nurturing some fine creatures down a series of generations for funsies. Creatures, but with a more modern artistic update if you will. Uagi-Saba does that. It sets you up with a possible line of story about 'an ancient race going off and colonizing a world while keeping a last great creature in slumber... Yadda, yadda, yadda' (which is actually pretty intriguing to think about as you realize by the designs the sort of pseudo-advanced tribal stone lifestyle going around throughout the game) and then throws you straight into the little modular base management gameplay. From there, it's essentially a balance between pumping up your resources (or so far, as it is in the early access) and keeping the denizens of your underground world safe and happy. Very straightforward stuff and I usually would enjoy a nice game to kind of veg out to while casually enjoy the children of my first Mystics running around and proclaiming their superiority to the rest of the inhabitants of this brave new world. But, really, the game is very clunky right now. The screen movement even with the intuitive WASD keys were way too slow for my taste and manueverability to keep my oven and fermentation thingy going with as little break as possible was deterred by said slow screen movements. As I was trying to rename my Mystic, pressing 'P' paused the screen even though I was already in the 'naming' field. Manuevering from inhabitant details to base movement again is not very intuitive. While the game itself is an interesting game in a genre that I love to explore, the game as it is right now still have some more polishing off to get rid of those few bugs and some more tweaks to do. Moreover, I'm impressed that this game is made by a single person. Keep up the good work, dude!
The same song and dance that we hear so many times before. The games good BUT..... it needs some tweaking , minor bugs , blah early access , blah , blah. To me its like trying your luck at slot machines or something like that. You sink your time and money into some game and you hope to hit a jackpot of fun for awhile. That sums up a lot of games in this stage of development. The price is fair and if you cant afford that then you might need to find a new hobby really. The bottom line is for me yes i like it and since i already bought it im in for the ride to the end and i hope it turns out for the best.
You like micromanagement ? You like hand drawn art ? You like to breed stuff ? Get this game!
Its been so long... I've watched this game grow from almost nothing into what it is today. A lot of love and work was put into this and a lot more love and hard work will be put into it, I am sure of it. The visuals are amazing! Sometimes I forget that I'm sitting inside of my room in this hellish summer weather and feel the chill of the underground sanctuary. Music slowly taps the eardrums as it brings comfort and calm notes. The first 20-30 minutes of the gameplay is a tad slow(so you can learn the basics) but it helps by making you expand your sanctuary immediately, read up on the lore(the lore is fantastic) and finding out what works and what doesn't. After that it's smooth sailing as long as you don't hit a game breaking bug. The hub computer contains all the info you will ever need, is a really helpful tool for the success of your sanctuary and should definitely be used no matter how long you have played the game. There's always something new to learn about this game. Some random hidden things can be discovered which makes the game really fun in my opinion. If you like creature breeding sims you will definitely like this game and I hope to see this title shine in it's full, deserved glory.
Uagi Saba is a beautiful and relaxing game that you can and will get lost in for hours. I have followed the creation of this game for a while now and I have to say that the game does not dissapoint. 10/10 -JOOCE
One of the best creature breeder's I've played. Also has some base building elements like what you would find in something like fallout shelter. The art is gorgeous and the game has such a cozy feeling to it in general. Def recommend.
I was excited upon finding this game that seems inspired by the old game Creatures, though I didn't play it, I like genetics games. Currently I do not find this game very engaging. The pace is extremely slow, made slower by the lack of speed options. There are some design choices that limit my entertainment. The creatures cannot walk around or interact with each other or the environment. They sit in their room, being animated simply to breathe and not much else. Additionally I notice it's been a long while since the game was updated...
