Tzar: The Burden of the Crown pro mě není jen další položkou v herní knihovně, ale absolutní definicí žánru RTS mého dětství a jednou z hlavních strategií, na kterých jsem vyrůstal. Spustit tuto hru po tolika letech a znovu se ujmout role Sartora v jeho boji za znovuzískání trůnu ve mně vyvolalo vlnu čisté euforie, kterou moderní tituly dokážou jen stěží replikovat. Je až neuvěřitelné, jak silně tento svět i po dekádách rezonuje; znovu vidět staré známé jako mága Ghirona nebo trpaslíka Woolina a vést je do boje působilo jako návrat domů po velmi dlouhé cestě, na který jsem se těšil roky. Musím však přiznat, že mě hra velmi rychle a nekompromisně upomněla na to, jak náročné strategie ze staré školy dokázaly být. Tzar vám nic nedaruje a vítězství si zde musíte tvrdě vydřít perfektním mikromanagementem a taktikou, což je v dnešní době, kdy nás hry často vodí za ručičku, nesmírně osvěžující změna. Ta obtížnost je sice brutální, ale férová; každá vyhraná bitva a každá úspěšně vybudovaná ekonomika přináší onen opojný pocit zaslouženého triumfu, pro který tento žánr tak miluji. Všechna ta frustrace a opakované pokusy za ten pocit finálního vítězství rozhodně stály. Jedinou mírnou trhlinou na tomto jinak dokonalém návratu do minulosti je pro mě absence české lokalizace, kterou mám z dětství tak silně vrytou do paměti a která hře dodávala ono specifické, nezaměnitelné kouzlo. Nicméně i bez původního dabingu je hratelnost natolik chytlavá, mechanismy tak nadčasové a atmosféra tak pohlcující, že na tento detail člověk v zápalu boje rychle zapomene. Je to zkrátka nestárnoucí legenda a naprostá „bomba“, která potvrzuje, že skutečná kvalita se časem neztrácí.

This game has one of the hardest campaigns and offers many different strategic options. Units have hidden bonuses against certain types of units: for example, priests can kill a stone golem in few shots, while mages can hit priests harder. This is also why spearmen are so defensive against archer towers. Thanks to mods, you can play the game in high resolution and in one of nine different languages (at least it works in Windows 10 and earlier versions). Version 1.10 provided new issue with duplicating colors in the map settings menu, but some older issues have been fixed. However, some still exist, such as the game not clearing the hit boxes after a unit dies, leaving an invisible tiles that cannot be passed, which often happens on bridges, as well as pathfinding issues. Overall, you can engage in many epic battles here, make your units overpowered without the need for cheats or be destroyed fairly quickly. There's even a Deathmatch option against computer players for those who are truly masochistic. :D BTW, after many years, we also have a translation of Tzar: Anthology, which offers four new campaigns.

Aber hey, ich liebe Age of empires und das hier gibt es für gerade mal 5 Tacken. Zudem siehen die Grafiken von 2000 aus wie die frühen vorlagen für AI generierte Bilder, einfach alles sieht super verzogen und schräg aus. Subjektiv feiere ich das da Spiel, objektiv ist es nicht gut gealtert und auch nicht wirklich mit moderner Hardware kompatibel. Da fehlt es einfach an patches. Połączenie świata historycznego i magicznego typu fantasy. Widać tu potencjał na świetny rts. Powinno sie dopracować na coś podobnego do starcrafta, red alerta, warcrafta lub warhammera i zrobić remake w hd.
