Turbo Fat - A Sweet Taste for Puzzle Lovers
I came across this little game randomly believe it or not and while the premise is absolutely hilarious I found myself admiring how well the game is put together!
The Good - What's Fun

Cute Visuals
Fun Atmosphere
Unique puzzle mechanics - it's not just about clearing lines anymore!
In depth Character Creator - Lots of options to choose from, you'll be able to make your own unique critter!
Multiple game modes - Between the modifiers in adventure mode as well as the training mode, it'll take a while before you'll get bored.
Amusing Story - The story is humorous and even got a good chuckle out of me a couple of times. Also the dialouge options are pretty funny too!
In-game Cheats - Feel like you're struggling? Feel like you have it too easy? The control is in your hands - You can adjust how fast the pieces fall and even if I pieces appear and even a toggleable hold feature as well!
The Developer of this game is active and responsive to feedback, which says a lot of good things about the health and longevity of this game.

The Bad - Annoyances

Tutorial levels can be confusing, forcing you to figure out things on your own (although you will find this is necessary, trust me.) It took me a very long time especially [strike]with the cake recipies and[/strike] with snap turning, although once you get it, you just kinda know. I do recommend practicing the More Cakes tutorial though! Thank you dev for tweaking the cake tutorial! It's a lot more intuitive now and I think players will get it :)
Being a casual game, there should be a toggle showing possible recipies for each level while playing (strictly for the casual players - it's hard to memorize everything)

The Ugly - Immersion Breakers

[Strike]The game will occasionally crash after beating a level at the time of writing. Expect this to happen once every hour of gameplay or so - although your mileage may vary.[/strike] This issue has been addressed! Way to go!

The Verdict - 9/10 - A Sweet Surprise
Overall, this charming little game is actually quite a lot of stupid fun, and the gimmicks this game offers no shortage of fun puzzles to solve. Easy to Learn and Hard to Master - just how i like it. Just don't bite off more than you can chew!
This is no mere clone of that other falling-blocks puzzle game - you know the one. The new mechanics here go a long way to differentiate this game from its ancestor, enough so that if you try to approach it with too similar a mindset, you will struggle (well, I was, anyways). The story is hit-or-miss, but was never why I was interested in the game. The mechanics are well thought out and make for very satisfying combos. You get those little "Eureka!" moments where you figure out a good plan for your next several blocks. There's a good variety of level types and gimmicks, and combined with the high skill ceiling, I'm seeing a lot of potential for replayability. Excited to play more.
Amazing aesthetics, character customization, diverse silly dialogues... and a tasty twist on classic puzzler gameplay! The core mechanics already give a lot of freedom to setup and prepare combos for high scores, reminiscent of stuff like Tetris or Puyo Puyo... Yet, Turbo Fat manages to feel wonderfully liberating, both in stage variety and skill expression. Really easy to pickup and play as a casual, with plenty of wiggle room for learning tons of tricks and raising the skill ceiling. Anyone looking forward to a challenge or testing their limits won't be disappointed. Packaged together with little twists and tweaks between individual stages, either through simpler trials or neat gimmicks at the player's choice, and we're given lots of replay value here too! Easy to learn, plenty to master, and with this much content, Turbo Fat is definitely a steal.
In short: Tons of depth! And adorable! Long version: If a casual game is easy to immediately grasp but ultimately shallow, this is the opposite of that. Once you do the tutorial, you can tell there's a LOT more depth to the systems than you might assume. Juggling everything at once (making "recipes", clearing lines, combos, etc) feels so difficult to manage at first but so satisfying once you start getting the hang of it. It's definitely something puzzle fans can really sink their teeth into (no pun intended)! The levels have a ton of variety too and I appreciate that some types are simpler and serve as a nice break for your brain. Similar to a rougelike, losing progress doesn't feel like a waste of time because it will be different the next time anyway, you even see new dialogue and cutscenes this way. It should go without saying but the characters are all adorable! The presentation is just really nice in general and the cutscenes have a lot of personality, and I appreciate that there's even a character creator where you can make your own cute little critter. The music is lots of fun too and full of quirky bumpin' tunes. This game is clearly a labour of love from a passionate dev!! Worth picking up.
A 'like tetris but not' sort puzzle game that has its own twists and game play. only to add even more twists to its own formula in all sorts of strange ways that keeps the game-play feeling fresh.
Really cute game! And challenging! I keep having to "unlearn Tetris" a bit to get used to the new shapes~ I also love the little critter I made for myself!
A fun twist on the block-falling-down game. Actually, a lot of depth here that I want to explore more... way more depth than I thought before I bought it! I will say that it's a bit hard to parse the gameplay mechanics at the start just because there is so much to take in. I think the beginning might be one of the hardest tutorial sections I've ever played in a game, lol. But it has a lot of charm, the art is nice, the music is great, and there a certain "je ne sais quoi" about it that makes me want to play more... so I recommend it!
Amazing puzzle game, with dificult like no other! Super charming art and concept, having cute characters and design. Story can be a bit of agressive with characters being a bit mean to each other, but its overall in great fun overall and i would love to have someway to see the diferent diolog options choices without making a new save and playing throught it all, but still better then expected in story for a game that thrufully i expected none. For tetris players it might be a bit hard to get acostumed to, but the casual piece slip is more then just a helping casual mechanics, its INTEGRAL to mantaining combos and a good structure. I HIGHLY recomend activating teh hold button if you are used to games with hold cause it will easy you to the game greatly. It takes time to get used to the new shapes. Love the character creating for an OC ingame, pretty varyed options, and cute overall. The music in this game is outstandingly good! I will buy the OST if it ever becomes available Ah, my only nit-pick is sometimes the game crashing on level end, and some maps really don´t clue you in what is theyr gimick and when notice you are allready in a dificult situation. I had to train specific levels cause i was unable to beat em without losing a life(in specific the one where its similar to cheese mode in tetris where every 1 piece send 1 of garbage is sent to your board, but the pieces make this quite clumky to deal with and if your first piece block the stack as it allways shows by the right side you will probably perish), and i still find it quite hard. If you love good puzzle games like tetris and puyo puyo i highly recomend you give it a try.
TURBO FAT is an aromatic reminder that puzzle games used to be cruel. Adventure mode will truly test your skills in block-stacking, whilst throwing in fresher mechanics that you must rise through in order to beat the game. Come prepared.
Fun new take on stacking!
