About
Triumvora is a Roguelite with Survival, Simulation and Hack 'n Slash elements, set in an infinite city overtaken by bright flora and fauna.
Mysterious creatures have claimed the top of the food chain, but their social hierarchies are turning into chaos. Live through one's eyes and grow from a weakling to the city's ruler.

Food is limited and in high demand. Will you eat it, stash it for hard times, or share it? Will you protect your stockpiles or raid others’? Maximise your resources in a limited time.

These strange beings are able to see and absorb Aura, concentrated sources of the universe’s energy.
How will you assert your power? Through the wealth of your stockpiles, the number of loyal allies you've gathered, or pure aggression?

Overthrow the old Rulers and their corrupted Crowns. Become a better pack leader than them, and strive for Unchallenged Rulership.
Death won't be the end of your rule. There's higher powers at play here, which can make good use of your hard-earned Aura.
If you're a fan of unique Indie games, do wishlist this! Triumvora is made by a solo developer (hi!) and I've put in a lot of love and care in every aspect of it, from the gameplay to the art.

Another fever dream of a game, sometimes I find these developers that put together the most random ideas, but I guess it was interesting, not something that I have played before at least. Don't skip the tutorial by the way, you will need it. In a nutshell you playing small battle arenas where you compete for resources, and you can complete them in 3 different ways, either by killing the competition, making friends, or collecting resources yourself. There is a small learning curve to it as the game is very confusing for the first 20 minutes, but overall the gameplay is rather simple, once you know what is happening it's not very difficult. The game is separated into "runs" and the hub section where you can upgrade your maximum health, as well as unlocking new melee moves. Hey dev, you know what is hilarious? I beat the entire game without using any of the special attacks because the UI for the shop looked confusing - I thought I was unlocking passive effects. Those 3 abilities you see on the top, that is your melee 3-hit combo, when you unlock new moves, you have to switch them to get those new attacks and their animation, it just feels a bit weird the way you select them. The game kinda has that vaporwave feel to it, nice music and weird feels overall. The controls are not too bad when you just moving around, although some of the interactions can be a little odd to master. In theory the idea is to beat the 9 levels back to back, although the game does not force you to do so except for 1 achievement, and as far as I can tell, that was not required, you can beat the game 1 crown at a time.
Pros:
(+) Well it's a strange game, that is pretty much its selling point. The gameplay is certainly different and had some unusual ideas, but it's more of a novelty than actually being enjoyable in a long run. (+) There is a hub for passive and special attack upgrades (just don't forget to actually equip them cuz UI makes it confusing) (+) I enjoyed the music and the visuals, for the most part
Feedback:
- It would be nice to hotkey certain attacks, otherwise it's tricky to use something like flame pillar during combo. - you know what would be neat, if you spam the run button you keep resetting the hop animation so it looks like you run like that the entire way, but would it not be more funny, if you actually gave the player a higher speed if they did it? - I don't see a point of resetting the run on death here, I mean you playing this game because it's unique, not because it's a true rogue-lite, resets just make it more tedious in this case. Just let the player "try again" on death. - The ending didn't feel very rewarding, I feel like you should add to it, maybe a small playable cutscene to give more closure - I feel like the other bosses were not implemented that well into the game, the incentive to fight them is not so great, maybe you could do something where if you beat 9 stages, you have to fight them 1 on 1 in some arena with a more aggressive AI. Honestly I think you should make that divine creature into a boss too - the other creatures get confused very often, running in circles doing nothing - when you get stages with 50+ blue quest, I feel like that is not very reasonable to get in time, even if you play perfectly Overall Thoughts: 6/10 It was a unique experience but I felt the ideas were not interesting enough beyond the first 2 hours or so, and I played for another 4, doing mostly the same thing with no change in difficulty really, if anything the first 20 minutes were the hardest. Even though I had some fun with it, I think a lower price point would be more fair, the game is very shallow once you understand what is happening, and the loop variety/mechanics are very primitive.
I'm all for lovely graphic styles and this game didn't disappoint, specially the cosmic creature which was beautiful to just stare at. Would be nice to have it as an unlockable skin maybe? The gameplay felt smooth and well crafted and it's a chill game that I come back to when I want to relax a bit. It also involves some strategic thinking but it relies on how the AI plays out which is out of your control, for example it can be difficult to get a green crown if they killed each other at the start of the level. The new mechanics introduced in each sector are interesting but I would have expected some kind of reward when distinguishing fire with the blue grapes. Although it took me a while at the beginning to understand what's going on. There is more to be done in terms of educating the player. For example, it's very difficult to start attacking others at the starting sector and I wasn't sure when will the plants stop producing fruits so I can re-plant them, one time I stopped harvesting the last fruit waiting for more fruits to show up but they never did. Gathering the blue aura was straight forward and it gets easier when you understand the stockpile mechanic. I couldn't understand the upgrades UI as well -- unsure what to upgrade and how to use it. Overall, I would say this game is worth a try as it's a brand new kind that I haven't seen before which is expected from indie devs.
The game is very easy to get into, and the gameplay is very satisfying! The art and music bring out the nostalgic feeling of Katamari, and before you know it you would've spent hours enjoying it :)
I only just started playing this, but I need to talk about just how cool this game is and how much more attention it deserves. This is an otherworldly game with a vibe and atmosphere that I can't quite describe. It's something between a resource management puzzle game and a roguelite. To be honest I was intimidated by the store page's gameplay videos because I felt I might have a difficult time grasping the mechanics, but they're incredibly intuitive and easy to learn. It's very rewarding to play, and there's a sort of progression system between sectors that helps you learn to take on bigger and bigger challenges. The art style is simply stunning as well. The atmosphere and environment feels alien, but also cozy and terrestrial at the same time somehow I can see myself playing this so much and I just needed to put my thoughts somewhere in order to try and comprehend my feelings towards this game. It truly is like nothing else I've played and I'm already in love. This deserves so much more attention.<3
Stayed for the vibes
Really cute game, absolutely love the art style and the music it has a great vibe that I haven't experienced before in any other games and it's a very refreshing feeling. I'm also a big fan of the sassy dialogue The gameplay is very intuitive and I am enjoying working my way through the increasingly hype upgrades. Definitely recommend!
A very charming indie game! A cool style, and interesting mechanics
I made friends with everyone in sector 1! :D I tried to murder at the start but I was instantly murdered haha Super fun, and super intense - I had 1 SECOND left in one of the levels, I was panicking XD Can't wait to watch speedruns of this :D
Vibes are epic, art and music are very hype and make each world feel unique Gameplay is pretty fun once you get the hang of it but I definitely had a lot of confusion getting started Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to try something new
