I feel like the game really starts around level 40. The difficulty is lower than I'd like before that, so when the difficulty level goes up it makes the game a lot more rewarding. I doubt the game will be updated any more (it's quite old now) but my wishlist would be: 1. Harder difficulty earlier on. I want to be challenged before level 40, tbh. 2. Vsync. I get a lot of tearing on my monitor, so it would nice to add the option for vsync. 3. Would love the option to not have the camera rotate on those levels where it follows the rotation of the level. It's not very nice, really. Other than that, I think it's a fun game. It's nicely polished and works well, I just want more of a challenge from it difficulty-wise. I got it for like a dollar twenty or something and I'd definitely say I had my money's worth from it and I'll probably come back and start the game at a later level using the level select (good addition, that) so I can get to the harder stuff faster!!

Just too slow, and the button remapping screen is confusing. I agree to the other reviews. Developer, if you fix the level design and the conotroll setup manu you could have a good game here.

awesome game that just needs to be played.
PROS: If what you're looking for is a simple arcade style shooter, you've come to the right place. Triblaster is quite easy to play, easy to understand, easy to pick up and put down. The game achieves a vector based arcade game asthetic, complete with grainy robot voice. Very charming. CONS: The game is almost too easy. I did perfectly by shifting from one side to the other doing nothing but shooting and defeated the first quarter of the game as such. The enemies are slightly limited, with few variations. The beam and "jumping recovery" aspects also make the game practically impossible to fail at. No challenge at all. tl;dr cute arcade-esque game, really too easy, good for kids or parents forcing their kids to learn about old video games 6/10, would blast 2 more times
tl;dr1: If this were an arcade game, it would sit in somebody's corner on freeplay after failing to pull in more than one credit per player. tl;dr2: Fun for an in some ways poorly-implemented Tempest 2000-alike (maybe more like, but still lesser-than in many ways and more-than in very few ways, Tempest Plus on the Tempest 2000 cartridge. Triblaster will immediately remind people of Tempest 2000 (Atari Jaguar, Sega Saturn, PSX, PC, Atari 8-bit), Tempest 3000 (Nuon), TxK (PS Vita), and similar. It also might remind the player of a first try in Unity by a somewhat talented developer which/who didn't care about the enduring quality of the final product and was merely producing a working Unity game to sell before starting on a real project with Unity teeth freshly-sharpened for the job. THE GAME: You control a polygonal triangle which has the ability to shoot individual shots (key can be held down for repeat fire), a beam which destroys a LOT in your lane while freezing your score until you let go of the beam fire key, and a jump button so you don't run into anything along the rim of the web as you roll smoothly around (strange for a triangle which looks like kinda like a thick triangular guitar pick which rolls side to side on its edge along the side of the near edge of the playfield, but oh well). The levels, despite rotating into view and zooming in against a starfield background, have too little variation between themselves to make a serious comparison to Jeff Minter's/Llamasoft's masterpieces or even to the versions of T2K farmed out to other studios (like the PSX and PC versions, IIRC). The baddies on the "web" are different enough flat-shaded polyhedral objects that Triblaster isn't much more than a poor copy with a bonus stage somewhat reminiscent of the final boss of the levels in the early flat-shaded arcade polygon game I-Robot. Sound assets are lacking in a major way, but not missing, as far as I can tell. They sound pretty bad. The game has an attract mode which plays the game, which is a nice feature. Like the robot voice says when you fail to grab enough polygons during the bonus stages for a 1up, "hah hah hah" (You'll have that much fun when you play this game for kicks and giggles or if you have insomnia and a few minutes to waste between bedtime and sleeping supplement activation time.) Overall, I'll recommend this game with a 4/7 (57%), but if you're a millenial or another type without a love of similar Tempest-derivatives, you probably would rate it 2-3/7. Buy it on sale if you like the screenshots and the gameplay video. Review will surely change if Triblaster is pulled out of the back room in its unfinished state and given some replay value.
