Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.78/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One of the best remakes from already great game.
As a remake of one of the best SNES J-ARPGs, it's decent and almost perfectly balances the compromise between faithfulness and modernity. It's worth its price on sale at -50%, which happens pretty frequently. Seiken Densetsu 3 is one of my most important RPGs. I grew up with the trilogy and SD3 (fan-translated) was one of the very first games I emulated as it wasn't available outside of Japan back in the day. The original aged really well and still looks incredible, and this remake gives you another way to enjoy it. Basically, get this if you want an easier, more modernized version with way better gameplay, but play the original Trials instead if you want something with more soul and can tolerate SNES-era design issues. In more detail, this is what the remake does better:

The combat is richer and more interesting. It's faster, has more mechanics to play around and deal with with combo finishers each with their own purpose, armor breaking, stagger, air attacks, and simplified FF14-style boss mechanics, and everything is more intelligently balanced.
Stronger character building with a lot of shared perks to play around with. The game is extremely breakable if you look up what each class brings. Speaking of which, in SD3, you choose 3 of 6 characters for your whole playthrough, and power them up with a class evolution system where you choose between Light and Dark evolutions at certain points in the game. The remake strengthens each class' identity and its power spikes when getting a new class are even more fun.
Dark-Dark Angela + Dark-Dark Riesz
with the right perks is a completely broken and hilarious duo!
The japanese VA is great with quite a few big names in there with Yuuki Ono as Hawkeye and Rumi Okubo perfectly portraying Angela.
Every map is basically a 3D version of the SNES map, down to the shape of every room. It's pretty interesting to see how the transition in gameplay plays out, the level design is surprisingly very compatible with the original. The main differences lie in more puzzles, collectibles and especially verticality which works way better here for obvious reasons. If you've played the original, you will often be positively surprised at all the little places you'll recognize.
Arranged soundtrack does its job really well.
Character models generally look really good, especially Angela (holy canoli) Duran and Charlotte, which is very important in one of the very first JRPGs with heavy emphasis on character personalities and designs.
It is not without its flaws however, which is why I see it as merely a different way to play SD3 rather than a straight upgrade worth full-price. Some are more nitpicky than others.

Tier 3 class item RNG. If you want to get these classes as soon as you unlock them, you need to grind specific mobs that can drop
???? Seeds (which roll a random class item)
at very low rates. Otherwise, you have to find them in chests from later dungeons, severely delaying you. It's two pointless layers of RNG that gate your agency on the most important power spikes in the game and gets in the way of your fun.
Terrible english VA, which is unfortunately the norm nowadays for japanese RPG ports/remakes/remasters.
Lazy, censorious, disrespectful localization with characters very often saying completely different things between EN and JP dialogues, altering their personality. In the japanese text, Angela is way more rude, smug and seductive, and Charlotte isn't absolutely insufferable (EN infamously translates her speech quirks to ultra cringe UwU-speak). The fan translations of the original game did an infinitely better job.
SD3 was already an easy game, Trials remake is even easier, especially when you know what you are doing. I beat the postgame main boss and superboss both in less than a minute while almost completely ignoring their mechanics
by maxing out magical defense down and spamming Ancient Curse like a caveman
. Yeah, you just steamroll it like that, it's one of the original's parts that aged poorly and wasn't executed the best here. If you're looking for a challenge, you'll have to limit yourself on purpose or use mods if there are any. On the other hand, it makes it extremely accessible for super casual players and kids.
Targeting and the camera often get in the way of combat, but thankfully not in a really significant way.
Repetitive, just like the original.
Despite the assets being individually beautiful, the art direction is very inconsistent with very bland lighting, unnoticeable tonemapping and lackluster shaders that make a lot of things look out of place and cheap. Same can be said of cutscene animations with their simplistic rigs, poor mocap integration and bad acting. This makes the game feel less professional and weakens its personality. SNES SD3 has infinitely more charm than this and it's really unfortunate. SQEX could have sent some of their crazy good technical artists and art directors to help the studio that handled this remake and it would have looked fantastic.
Teammate management. You don't have enough fine control over their AI and directly ordering them to cast a spell or outright swapping to them, is very janky and could have been better executed. This issue depends of course on your team composition.
Overall I am pretty happy with this remake and am glad it exists, as a good example of the difference between a remake and a remaster, and of the aforementioned balance. Also, getting more people to know about the Mana series is always good!
8/10 Being a Secret of Mana lover since it was introduced on the SNES, I figured this would something the same. I played the demo and it was enough for me to make the purchase. Now I am sure many people are going to love this game because there is so much you can do, but for myself, I am a simple man. I don't have the patience to "choose" attributes to my characters, unlike SoM where you can just summon an elemental and give you the elemental blade. Too much switching around for my taste. Hence while the game is good in general, I found myself not engaging in the full advantages of what the game play has to offer. While I did enjoy the game and encourage others to try it, it's not a game I would do a second run through of. I think Secret of Mana is my game until my dying days. :-)
Ai ruins game. Your teammates are too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid to dodge AOES.
-boot up game for the first time -big dumbass smile and hyped to play game -"TWIALS OF MANA!" -all muscles on my face droop -change va to japanese -"SEIKEN DENSETSU THREE!" -as god intended -big ass apple fritter smile -ready for gaming
