I got this game thinking it was gonna be complete trash, but I was utterly surprised. It's a tad janky here and there, and the mechanics could use a little tweaking, but the music is decent and the animations are actually really, really good. This was a pleasant surprise, and I kinda hope the guy who made it sees this. Nice work man; Perceus was a really well designed boss imo.
Could be Worse, It's Free
Would you rather watch than read? Me too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZGA-bbZzDM This game is not going to blow anyone's socks off. It's not graphically amazing or all that fancy with what it's trying to do. It's a really simple game with a simple premise, just get to the third tower and take out all of the bosses. Is it tough? No not really, I beat it in about 12 or so minutes. Is it fun? Yea I had fun doing it. Is it going to set any records or win any awards? Naw. It's just not that kind of a game. Was it worth the two playthroughs I did on it though? Yea I had fun enough. It was free, afterall. There is just nothing else to do though once you go through it. I did enjoy trying to dodge the owl with the sword and the dragon (the bear needs some work). Again, it's like a college game project. Not doing anything AMAZING but for the price of free, it was just fun enough. tl;dr - Not every game has to be 10 straight hours of action. This was 15 minutes of fun. An unboxing for video games! I do these for people who hate reading and want to see the gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZGA-bbZzDM Join the Curator group for more reviews like this: Sonoket's Lost Games
This game is like a free sample of a cupcake from the grocery store. It's short, sweet, inoffensive, and worth the price of admission. After eating the small piece of store brand cupcake, are you convinced that buying a full box of it will change your life? No. But in this case there is no larger box to buy. The game is what it is. Honestly, the download is so small, and the game is so free, that reading this review would take longer than trying it yourself. But I guess somebody has to review this little game, and that somebody might as well be me. As I stated before, it's a simple action game that opens with no menu. The camera just starts panning in on the character and bam, you're in. Not a single line of dialogue or context. It doesn't even tell you the controls. Once you fiddle around and figure out what to do, you're thrown into the first boss, and then the next, and then the final one. There are only 3 bosses in this game, and all of them are different enough in mechanics and design that they are distinct from each other. The actual controls and gameplay are serviceable. You have health that will regenerate up to a certain point, stamina, two different attacks (light and heavy) and a dodge roll. It felt responsive, and I was always doing what I wanted to do, but I felt little reason to use the heavier charge attack. The animations aren't up to the standards of a Devil May Cry or Dark Souls, but they are fine, and feel in line with the polygonal visuals. The music was too loud, but what was there was good. The design of everything had some creative elements. I didn't run into any game-breaking bugs, though that's not to say there weren't any glitches. I got stuck beneath the first boss (a poor bear that looks like he's had a hard life) a couple of times, and he looked about as confused as I was. The final boss flew back into his little cave and just spewed fire at me for a good minute or so, so I weaved back and forth dodging the bursts like I was in a shoot'em up before running to the other end of the arena to spite him. He persisted in staying in his hole, so I relented and tried to run him down in his chambers. I actually got pretty close to killing the pest, but he won, so I respawned at the last checkpoint and decided to kite his AI so he wouldn't consider doing that again. Anyways, this review took longer to write than beating the game. I had a small amount of fun playing this game, which, for the price of free, means I well got my money's worth. It wasn't a time investment to beat or download. It's simple, and some games are fine that way. I'll end with this: I've seen games that cost actual money be released with far less effort or quality put in them. There are other free games out there, but I don't often see free games that go beyond a walking simulator, a cheap horror game, or a visual novel. If you took the time to read this, you're obviously interested enough in the game that I can't think of a reason why you shouldn't download it and give it a go. You could download it before starting a larger, better game download and play this while you wait. Took me all of 20 seconds to download. The long and short of it: This game is short and simple, and I'd recommend trying it if you are interested in it. It clearly had some affection and care put into it.
Very fun, the music is great, a fairly fluid combat system. Good game for a short yet satisfying challenge.

One minute into the game i experience a game-breaking glitch that won't let me back in the first boss fight arena. I could easily restart the game but i can't think of a reason to. I know it's free to play but this is bottom of the barrel garbage. I've also read comments from various people stating that the achievements don't even work to unlock properly. Not much of anything works in this game, i'd stay away even at free to play. Unless there is a huge update with loads of improvements this game shouldn't even be considered playable at the current time.
