Summary
A futuristic endless runner/racer that pits you against a progressively more difficult series of procedurally generated obstacles at an increasingly fast pace. Earn unlockables and compete in global leaderboards while vibing to the vaguely Tron-like visuals.
What is it?
In Tri6 Infinite you control one of three vehicles with differing characteristics through an endless series of procedurally generated tunnels filled with twists, turns, obstacles, and opponents, all of which exists in "cyberspace." You can pickup items which allow you to do things like throw mines, move faster briefly, fire projectiles, and more. You unlock additional powerups (which will then appear in-game) by collecting and spending electrons - a form of currency - while playing. Both the visuals and the concept seem Tron-inspired to some degree, with players controlling vehicles within a system where the opponents are "viruses," with the overarching premise being to survive in cyberspace for as long as possible. Four player split screen is also here surprisingly, and is a rare and welcome addition for a game of this type, especially on PC. That's reflective of the overall attention to quality that the game exudes in general. I was very pleasantly surprised to see just how polished and functional this game is compared to others of its ilk. I discovered this game by seeking a cyberpunk racing game. Sadly, a quality implementation of a true racer set in a cyberpunk setting has eluded me. (A racer... not a rhythm game, obstacle course, or poorly controlled art project more about aesthetics than gameplay... there are many, many of those on Steam, but I digress.) Yet while it's an endless runner rather than a racing game in the strictest sense, this is among the more complete and polished games of its type I've found by a mile, especially for the price and small team size (three devs and one marketer.) The game is extremely straightforward, polished, playable, and very pleasing to look at. In a sea of low-priced cyberpunk-ish endless runners/racers that don't even have full controller functionality for menus (or sometimes even in-game,) I'm honestly surprised that after being released for a month at the time of this review, I'm only the second person to review such a small gem, and that there are only 25 players on the leaderboards. That's a shame, as this is a quality product for a more than reasonable price in my opinion. It's fun, has better than decent production values, full controller support including in menus (with the sole exception that I can't change display resolutions without using mouse scroll,) tight controls for what it is, split screen PvP, and cross-platform leaderboards. A small game, but clearly a lot of love went into it. I find it fantastic to spend short sessions in and just relax with. And if you're on the fence, there's even a demo. Try it out.
PROS:

Polished visuals, controller support, menus, and gameplay, especially for such a small game.
Plenty to work towards unlocking.
Fun for short sessions and to zone out to.
Global, cross-platform leaderboards (requires account creation, allows Steam linking - totally optional for playing the game.)
Sharp visual design.
Effective and fun soundtrack.
Four player split-screen.
Playable demo is available.

CONS:

It's just an endless runner/racer (but a very polished one for what it is.)
Seemingly almost no one has discovered or played it, which is a real shame.

Recommendation
Recommended for anyone who loves the visuals and vibe, and is a fan of endless racers/runners. Don't take my word for it. There's a demo.
Demo gespielt, Vollversion gekauft.
This game really is a lot of fun. You are just racing on an endless track, slowly climbing the ranks, against enemies that you can shoot. But dont get shot yourself. The track gets more difficult the longer you go on. Global highscore list is included. The visuals are very nice and the controls seem pretty nice tbh. You can collect coins that let you buy more power-ups, vehicles and skins for the vehicles. The price of the game is very fair. I dont know how many hours you can play this before it becomes boring, but since you can play it here and there between other stuff, I can imagine you can go on for quite a while.
