Dear Developer, I have played Parts 1-3. All I have to say is this: hurry up. But don't hurry, because I want Part 4 to be as good as the rest. But still, you know, hurry up. Guys, this is a great little gem. Yes, the first part is literally a half hour and it's free. Part 2+3 bundled together are 1.99 AND IT'S WORTH IT. If you are a lover of horror, we need to support this developer. Imagine the film 1408 mixed with elements of Silent Hill and then add tropes of all the good horror movies worth mentioning thrown in. I love the plot. I won't spoil it at all. The soundtrack, and sound effects are very effective. I love the pixelated graphics. It reminds me a little bit of Lone Survivor, another great horror game. The puzzles start simple. By part 3, I was taking notes, and drawing simple diagrams and maps. There were genuine moments of AHA! There are no guides covering all three parts so figuring out a puzzle really gave me a sense of accomplishment. The scares. Everything from creepy atmosphere, to jump scares to NOPE! are in here. The game is great at making sure you are not comfortable for really any period of time. The only gripes is that there is a bit of backtracking and when you are stumped, you're running around thinking,"WHAT AM I MISSING?". But then again, it just makes the AHA! moment all the more rewarding. So is that really a strike against the game? I love being surprised. This game is a nice surprise. Also, could we get a soundtrack DLC?

Pros: Free Time-filler Cons: Lots of backtracking Unintuitive gameplay Confusing story Unpleasant sound effects You play as Nolan, a man in search of his brother. He’s determined to find him no matter what, but that may not so easy. Nolan finds himself amidst bloody murders and visions so violent he’s convinced he’s dreaming. As Nolan follows the trail his missing brother left behind, creatures of the dark plague him. People begin to mysteriously disappear. Fresh blood is the only clue anyone had ever been there in the first place. Currently, Trap has only just begun. Part one is out now with part two in the works. It took me about 45 minutes to get through the game, and this time includes a snack break and staring blankly at the screen. This game isn’t bad. But as it is I can’t say it’s good, either. The pixel art is decent and I was interested enough to find out what would happen as the game progressed. Not thoroughly invested, but content enough to see what happened. Grammar and writing problems appear in-game quickly and only get worse as the game goes on. The details of the story are lost to broken English. I often found myself lost with no idea what to do next. It’s unintuitive gameplay. The only way I managed to complete it was because I took a look at the forums. Luckily enough, someone had figured out my problem for me. The controls are crowded and don’t feel good to use. My hand was crowded to the right of my keyboard using Enter, shift and the arrow keys because those were the default controls. The tutorial listed different controls than what actually worked. There were no in-game options to change key bindings. The story/gameplay would have taken about 15 minutes had it not been for a ridiculous amount of back and forth. I didn’t hate the time I spent playing this game. I always enjoy a good horror story, even if it isn’t the scariest or most profound one. However the little details like the backtracking, jarring sound effects, and how often I lost my way ragged on me. I had my fun. I don’t regret playing, but I’m definitely not returning for part 2.
Hoo-boy! Did I have to visit the forums a few times while playing THIS one! Good thing the game itself, brief though it may be, was worth the effort... The player's first challenge: how to get the game out of a window and into full-screen! Turns out it's F4; shame it doesn't tell you so in-game. Thank f*ck the devs are prompt to answer people in the Discussions. Second challenge: the controls. Close to where your character begins, there's an electronic teller-style machine reading "TUTO": which Google kindly informs me is French for "tutorial". So if you can manage to work out how to walk over to the machine and interact with it, you'll be told the controls...which, of course, you needed to know most of just to access the tutorial in the first place. (Hint: despite being a "point-and-click"-type game, clicking alone won't get you there. I ended up finding the arrow keys and SPACE bar to be the best combo, with ESC accessing the menu/inventory.) Some of the puzzles are also pushing their luck in the logic department, but hey...we all expect that from an "adventure" game, right? Still, it's a bit of a worry when I have to look up a walkthrough a couple of times in the course of such a short gaming experience...though I am pretty crap at these kinds of games, so perhaps that's more on MY head... The game's command of the English language is also questionable, but again: surely we've come to expect that from indie horror games by now? Hell...I almost get a jump-scare these days when the writing's actually GOOD! Beyond these complaints, this thirty-minute-or-less first instalment of an intended series is certainly worth a look, especially if you're a horror fan who can get past the pixel-y presentation to see the successfully spooky game beneath. It's not yet Lone Survivor or Claire, but it's early days yet. And it's FREE. So why not give it a burl? The storyline certainly has me intrigued thus far, so we can only hope it's planned to "go somewhere" in future episodes... Verdict: 7.5/10. Short and sweet, this game is a wonderful introduction to a series I can't wait to play more of! Trap is a point n' click horror/mystery game with all the classic elements. I personally love the color palette of the game itself, it reminds me of a blood-splattered neon sign from the 80's. The sound design is also fantastic; with sound effects scattered throughout to make your skin crawl and a soundtrack that sets a perfectly spooky, atmospheric scene. The puzzles were fairly simple but fun to figure out. Part 2 is heading to Steam this summer according to the dev. I am very excited for it, so I'll be sure to edit my review to reflect the full experience once I've played that as well.
(с). S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Trap: welcome to Beryl – недорогой нишевый хоррор-квест, созданный в RPG maker.
ClickomaN

Boring and shallow gameplay, the story is a trope. Made with rpg maker which implies 99% chance of it being asset flip. But it's f2p so there is that.
Demo-Review
Personally, I dislike point and click games. Adventure games that solely focus on running around and solving riddles. They are still more favourable than any walking simulator but they are at the bottom of the list what I would usually play and enjoy. This doesn’t mean I didn’t can’t find pleasure in these I just mostly avoid playing those. Gameplay Trap defines why I kinda dislike these games. The problem with the game is less about giving you lots of riddles that fatigue you but rather giving you very easy ones that can’t be defined as riddles. They are just situation to run around the whole map, collect every item and then use the item on an object to continue on somehow. You also don’t really have to combine them in clever ways to overcome an obstacle. An example of a bad riddle is a situation where the player finds out he has lost his wallet so he can’t check into the hotel. Apparently, the drunkard on the train has it so you try to take it away. He only wakes up when you try to grab the wallet and will immediately shoot you and you go back to your checkpoint. In order to solve this, you need to go to a random train door and use your crowbar and grab an item from the back. Why can’t I just either jump on the train tracks and go behind it or why would the character know that something is behind the train that would help him and generally who would just crowbar a train door. Puzzles like these remind me why I hate those games at times because smartly created puzzles that don’t fatigue the player are hard to create. Story The demo hints that there is more going on other than your character wanting to meet your brother, schizophrenic escapades and an intro that shows someone killing a couple of people. Sound While there is no voice acting, generally the OST is totally alright, but I also have a knack for rainy nights. Graphics The pixelart is pretty nice looking except maybe the aesthethic of the player and NPC models aren’t that much to my liking. Conclusion/TL;DR I don’t really recommend the game due to its puzzles not being really engaging or just plain bad ideas that make no sense and can frustrate the player. I wont buy the chapters even if the story could have hooked me into them.
