TrainerVR

I really want this to work. I am trying to run it on the Oculus Quest , with Virtual Desktop. It seems to start ok but the blue menu button doesn't seem to do anything. I see the instruction billboard & the gate with the cattle skull. The play menu with the tracks is 15 feet over my head??? All the controls work but when i teleport the screen goes black with 2 blue orbs that change to red when i use the grip button. If anyone has any ideas of how i might get this to work, it would be greatly appreciated.

I tried this, flat out don't like it. There's bugginess here and there and just overall wonkiness that I don't appreciate. Makes me want to go out and get a real wooden train set instead.

If you want a train game that has a bunch of features and complicated things to do, this is not your game. If you just want to go back to when you were 6 years old playing with the wooden train set in your bedroom or at your aunt's cottage or best friend's house or wherever, then yes, this is your game. In that regard, it's theraputic. I wish the trains didn't come disconnected so much but I suspect that is being worked on.

This game is great! So much fun! Running the trains into each other causes explosions, plus there's TNT you can set and blow up your tracks just for fun. I love being able to build multiple levels of trains as well. 5/5 for sure.

So simple and so satisfying. I loved running the game for the first time. Opening the menu and placing my first pieces of track, they clicked together so flawlessly. The game doesn't give you much to work with but has a lot to offer. It is taking some time for me to get used to the controls on an index and especially the locomotion with turning (when I move forward or backward the left and right turn is on the same stick so it fades to black and un-fades to turn so thats a little annoying). Other than the controls there isnt anything bad about this game. 36/36

Great game, but wish my items weren't abducted by UFOs and wish they updated it more :(

An incredible throwback to building with wooden tracks, the games mechanics are fun as well as its music and atmosphere, really brings the whole game together to make an exciting and charming VR game. (suggestion; more tracks, trains, tools) 9.8/10

Just played this on Linux (opensuse) with Proton (defaulted to Experimental didn't try other versions), Steam Beta and SteamVR Beta with a Valve Index and it worked flawlessly for me. There are no other reports on whether this works or doesn't hence this review. As for the game it is a fun little train set with the only issue is the controllers aren't Vive ones so you have to experiment with the controls of the index to find out what does what; took about 10 minutes. The only thing I haven't discovered is how to close the application cleanly. Anyway I can recommend this if you like building train sets and just want a few relaxing VR moments.
