Beautiful graphics and very detailed. My only problem is that it's overpriced, like all the other Dovetail Games are well overpriced. If you want this game, I'd strongly recommend, you wait for a sale. 6/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Just like DTG, allow me to release the exact same thing as before with some minor changes [though i cannot charge £100 to read a review :( ] and post an edited copy of my review for TSW3 When TSW4 released, it was obvious it was simply a marginally upgraded rehash of TSW3 with a full "new game" price tag on it. I purchased TSW4 via Humble Bundle a couple of months ago, which is a great indicator that DTG are moving to dump another title within the next few months. To put it bluntly, TSW4 feels practically a rehash of its predecessor, with a few improvements and innovations, which in my perspective don't do enough to justify its existence as a fully priced new game, and the additions that have been made have clearly simply been pasted on top of the previous TSW3 release. Bugs that were present in the previous version still remain here, and will probably still exist in the upcoming TSW5 release. The underwhelming nature of this release wasn't any surprise a year ago, and now the next half-baked iteration has been discreetly ushered in, which is an outcome that was almost expected at this point. Dovetail Games' decision to market a seemingly new game that is comprised of content that could have been included within an update to the existing title again and again is baffling. After all, the creation of DLC usually suggests that there are plans to continue releasing core updates and upgrades, without spewing out an entirely new game. The reality seems to be that DLC is simply to pad out the road-maps, which is then rushed into release with bugs included that sometimes border on game-breaking issues, and the road-map promising updates that end up being withheld for the next title, carrying a premium price tag and further fragmenting the player base between versions, all in an attempt to milk more and more cash out of players. One of DTG's company philosophies is listed as them being "passionate about crafting high quality simulations that excite and engage both experienced and new players", but the TSW franchise seems to show is that what they are more passionate about is rinsing the pockets of the ones who completely ignore the fundamental issues behind this business strategy and seem to ignore the fact they are blindly investing in a product that'll be filled to the seams with bugs new and old, have DLC released for it that'll end up being forced to be rushed out and also be riddled with bugs, having probably been promised 7 titles beforehand, all while what could be a well polished singular experience gets shredded apart across multiple half-complete titles. I mean, there is DLC made for the older franchise titles that is still compatible with the current release, so it seems there could have certainly been a way to just keep working on that title and have large content and feature introduction drops annually in the same style TSC would operate, rather than charging full AAA game prices for basic patches over and over again. This series alone has brought me such "high quality simulations" as the experiences of being repeatedly vacuumed into a black hole contained within the luggage racks of a TGV, sending the RPM's of a Class 66 increasing to such speeds that'd make the Hadron Collider jealous of its particle acceleration capabilities, getting locked into an account creation menu [after already having an account for the creator club] where the only way to escape is to spam click the cancel button until the menu vanishes, as well as a whole variety of minor issues littered around that I've experienced in just a few hours of game play (which includes idling and time away from keyboard with the game booted), which detracts from the experience overall. I'm not going to act like TSW4 isn't a fun game, it certainly is when you aren't encountering the whole heap of issues that appear on a basis that is sometimes more frequent than the timetabled trains in game, but the fact that people were made to pay up to £70 for this release (and will be charged up to a whopping £104 for TSW5's highest price packet), only to receive basically the same game as before with a fresh, albeit half-applied, coat of paint, and a couple of features and metaphorical bells and whistles tacked on, all to be thrown aside in less than a years time once the next patch of updates, wait, i mean the next new title, rolls around for a 25% price increase. In summary, Train Sim World 4 is a mixed bag. It offers some enjoyment amidst a barrage of unresolved issues, leaving players to question the worth of their purchasing on what feels more like a glorified expansion rather than a truly new game. That doesn't matter now though, as now the franchise marches forward with what will probably become more little bites of content scattered across dozens of cash-grab titles that could have all been implemented as rolling upgrades, potentially even to the initial Train Sim World title, to create a well rounded and polished experience packed with features and add-on content for players to enjoy for years to come, in the same way Train Simulator Classic could be described (somewhat, anyway)
Extremely expensive DLCs and highly unoptimized gameplay with uncountable amount of bugs
it was fun driving black silhouettes from point A to point B, very realistic, got to do nothing for 10 minutes then miss my station, do nothing for 10 minutes, and repeat
The game has a lot of frame drops, even with a Radeon RX 6950XT, 32GB DDR5 and a Ryzen 5 7600. Not even on max settings. Only really worth it if on sale for 10 euros. Also, don't get the East Coast Mainline if you choose to only buy one route.
takes up too much storage
