Great game, a fantastic remaster for a game that was already good

I absolutely loved this game, and I cant wait for the sequel!

This is easily one of the best JRPGs I've ever played. It's somewhat of a slow burn, but I can't stress enough that everything in this game is setup that is paid off in gold later on. The combat is a constantly evolving system that is enhanced by a revolving cast of playable characters, and just a comparison of earlygame and endgame gameplay shows a night-and-day difference. On the whole this game's story and writing is just superb. There were no wasted moments and I really felt the genuine passion and love this team had for the world and its characters. I honestly can't recommend it enough, and I am so, so excited to play 2nd Chapter when it releases.

As someone completely new to the Trails franchise, this was my very first game in the series and what an unforgettable experience it was. I went in knowing almost nothing about the world, and by the end I was absolutely hooked. I didn't just play this game; I devoured it. The world-building is phenomenal, slowly introducing you to the kingdom, its people, politics, and mysteries in a way that feels natural and incredibly rewarding. Every town, every character, and every conversation made the world feel alive. What surprised me most was how attached I became to the cast. The characters are wonderfully written, full of personality, and their relationships develop in a way that feels genuine. I laughed out loud countless times thanks to the game's humor and charming interactions, but it also knew exactly when to hit hard emotionally. And then there was that plot twist. I won't spoil anything, but the ending completely blindsided me. What started as an enjoyable adventure built and built until it delivered one of the most emotional twists I've experienced in an RPG. I genuinely had tears in my eyes. The game does such an amazing job of slowly building tension and setting things up that when everything comes together, the payoff is incredible. This remake has turned me from a complete newcomer into a fan who can't wait to continue the journey. If this is the beginning of the series, I can only imagine what's still to come. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with the characters and the world—and now I need to know what happens next.
