Toy Soldiers: HD

Classic. Wish a sequel was made with today's tech.

This is a very fun and addicting game, I fully recommend it and that's coming from someone whose played the original for years now. I honestly think this is the version you want to go with. Yeah it has some minor flaws but alot of upgrades compared to the original. Maps genuinely look more detailed and fleshed out and the addition of bonus levels is awesome. Sadly there isn't much of a community for the franchise to play online with and I hope somehow that changes but I think this is one of the greatest tower defense games out there and deserves more attention. If you don't want to play for price I'd say its very much worth buying on sale.

Played the original over a decade ago so I came back to HD kind of fresh and I wanted to play a TD game on my Steam Deck. While it does lack a bit of optimization, the gameplay was pretty enjoyable, some of the later levels can get pretty difficult since you have to be managing turrets and also going straight into the action with player controlled vehicles/nests. Can't comment on the changes done since I really can't remember much of the original but all in all I think it's a great TD title and was worth the sale price.

The problem isn't to much with the game itself. It's that it's advertised as being an HD version of the original but the graphics actually look worse. Also there are some little changes that can be off-putting to fans of the original. My advice: don't buy this but try the original. But be advised the version of the original that comes with Toy Soldiers: Cold War has been tampered with also.
