About
Tower of Kalemonvo is a challenging dark fantasy Action RPG - following the slower pace and high tension seen in genre-defining classics like Diablo 1 and Throne of Darkness. Defeat wicked foes, grow stronger, gather whatever loot you can find, and tread lightly - as every encounter could be your last!

Randomly Generated Dungeon
Rooms, rewards and foes are never the same across two playthroughs. Your path to the top will be yours alone.
Deep Itemization and Mystical Rare Items
Kalemonvo's loot system is about quality over quantity, carrying risks and rewards to continually reshape your build. Find unique pieces that allow for strange new playstyles: like a powerful but ravenous mask that consumes your potions, a pair of versatile shields made for dual-wielding, or a ghostly cape that makes you incorporeal.

Classless Character Progression
If you have the stats, you can equip any item, cast any spell or perform any combat feat. Play as a max-strength brawler, nimble summoner archer, or fireball throwing hammer-wizard. Adapt and experiment with your build to fit any playstyle you prefer.
Combat Arts and Item Skills
Combat is about more than just hacking and slashing. Each weapon type comes with their own arsenal of distinct skills: from throwing two-handed scythes, launching ricochet arrows, or reflecting projectiles with a shield.

Limited Resources
The Tower is not for the faint of heart. Potions are scarce, vendors are limited, and there is no town to Portal back to.
A Deadly Climb...
Hellish demons, undead warriors, mysterious cultists and many other malevolent beings will do whatever it takes to halt your advance. Only the most dedicated players will be able to succeed.

Are you a weird person like me who played Diablo 1 and said "You know what? I want more of that, but Diablo 2 and ARPGs (which all follow Diablo 2's template) doesn't scratch that itch..." this game is for you. Save in different slots, I had saves get corrupted quite frequently. It is hard, it is dark. It is slow. It is obtuse. The gore and enemy deaths are very nice. Because it was made by such a small team, certain aspects feel lacking: Voice acting, music, more realised enviroments. But that's me dreaming of a much better funded game. This one is still good and enjoyable.

Fantastic spiritual successor for Diablo 1 with a nice array of QoL features to modernize and some influence from hardcore roguelikes
For 1 playtrough I would say this is a very nice game, it really gives you those diablo 1 vibes, and it is unique enough in a lot of aspects and has a ton of quality of life upgrades. The graphics are great, the atmosphere is there and the OST kicks ass, it really is great. As much as I would like to leave a positive review I won't, because the game is (at least right now, and for me) just balanced in a way that is not fun at all. So, since there is no town, you can't go back to it to buy POTIONS. Which would not be a problem on it's own, but combined with the fact, that you cannot reset a level with mobs it creates this huge problem where you eventually just run out of potions. It usually goes like this: you dominate a few levels, hoard up a lot of potions, enter a new zone, the difficulty increases significantly, you start using your potions faster than you could replenish them. This was the case on my first playtrough, and I had to play for a few hours with the save -> kill a mob without taking damage -> save -> repeat ->if you get hit you load method. I still beat the game this way, but in NewGame plus this just got a lot worse, I started using the cauldron spells for about an hour, but I've got nowhere near enough potions to catch back so I gave up on this character. So I started a second playtrough with a mage, intentionally sparing potions, and carried them over to the next levels, but the outcome was the same. I couldn't even beat the finals boss with my mage, even tho the road to it was much easier and I had like 2+ inventory of potions by the last level. Just on that level alone almost 90% of them were used, because mana cost is high, and the mobs are tough, let alone the final boss. So I gave up. Really unfun experience. I would have loved to 100% this game, but honestly it's just not worth the effort of 1000 loads/playtrough on the normal difficulty and without newgame plus, and I'm not even mentioning the ironman and despair modes. Can' even imagine how hard those modes would be if I could not finish the normal ng+. I seriously hope that the game will be patched, as I've seen that earlier reviews actually mentioned too much potions dropping and etc. I should also mention, that you could do a lot of minmaxing with the load function, as you can roll blue items in the pools, or just reroll rare chests or boss loots with loading, and since the above mentioned things, I feel like the game expects you to do so, since there is no town where you could reroll the items and such, and the difficulty is very demanding. This is fine I guess, not nearly as much of a problem than the potion one, but still not optimal in my opinion. Also couple of things I think the dev should add to the game: -Some alchemy tables placed next to upper level entrances. -Add loot to the final boss. -Stackable potions, as you can still carry the potions to upper levels, but it is a lot of legwork and I think it's unnecessary to portal around if you could just stack them up. That's about it. Good game with great potential but the potion/town situation makes it unejoyable at later levels, and basically every run you do is just that: a run that will end, once you either run out of potions or run out of patience, loading to save up your potions.
An old-school (whatever that means) aRPG in Diablo-like style, where you can be a mage, a warrior or a bow-attacker - or combination of these. There is no town, there is nobody to buy your non-used loot, so pick your items carefully what you want to bring with you. The game has certain specific mechanics, like you need to pump Dexterity to increase your attack rating if you play with bow/arbalest or melee. Suggest to try free demo and check the forum guides before venturing forth. Overall recommend.
Its decent i guess, definitely has that diablo 1 vibe. The dungeon feels oppressive and theres a lot of effort into making encounters catch you by surprise which keeps you on your toes constantly. Gearing wise its reasonable, the few unique weapons i've dropped definitely had fun effects. My only real gripe with the game is the severely limited amount of resources you have, healing potions are very scarce. Theres no vendor and seemingly no means of refarming a level, which means you end up pushing through difficult encounters with little to no heals. In other games this would cause a sense of dread and feel satisfactory when you manage to pull through, but in ARPGs this simply means you will lose by attrition in a very underwhelming manner... gonna give another try with a ranged class and see if this is more of a melee issue. For now its recommended if you are into Diablo 1.
I was very take it or leave it with this experience, despite being the target audience. I've never really considered Diablo 1 to have been surpassed, just done differently. Most games in the genre emulate Diablo 2 or later, which is great, but I have felt pretty starved for good D1 clones, so to encounter Tower of Kalemonvo was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately it doesn't come close to rivalling the quality of D1 and I would argue that D1's best clone probably remains to be Dark Stone (a game which was already a pretty big drop in quality from D1). Further down the totem pole is Tower of Kalemonvo. My biggest gripes with it are that there is no town hub to buy & sell loot - You never leave the dungeon. The game is also audio/visually far less striking than D1 (granted, D1 had a proper studio behind it). It does at least capture some of the dark and serious feel of that game. There are some small QoL features missing, like the ability to add/reduce the transparency of the map and the ability to move where the map sits on the screen. One thing I like about Diablo 1 is that combat is slower and more about positioning. In D1 only a single enemy can stand in a doorway, but in this game 2 enemies can fit. So seeing as more enemies can stand on a tile to surround you, space at times feels a little more irritating to manage in this game. I struggled more here to target the enemies I wanted also, even when holding down the Shift key. Potions are finite and so theoretically it is possible to run out during your playthrough if you are taking too much damage (I was fine with my melee character but there were times where I was getting somewhat concerned). Once you beat the game, you have the option to continue with your character in Newgame+ mode, retaining all your items and stats. The game otherwise did most of the things that Diablo 1 does. Things like being able to hold down the shift key to attack, rooting you in place to stop your character walking off. Spells work exactly the same way, where you can find multiple copies of the same spellbook to level a spell up. I drop a game if I'm not having any fun, and I did play this through, which is why I'm leaving it a positive rec--but I was very take it or leave it. I hope the dev releases a follow up that is far more ambitious.
**Tower of Kalemonvo** feels like someone took classic dungeon crawlers, added pure chaos, dark atmosphere, and the dangerous ability to completely destroy your sleep schedule. I went in expecting “just one quick run” and instead got trapped in that perfect loop of *loot → upgrade → survive by sheer luck → immediately try again*. The build variety is fantastic, the progression feels rewarding, and every floor somehow manages to make me feel both overpowered and one bad decision away from disaster. The game absolutely nails that old-school addictive vibe where finding one insane item suddenly turns your character into a walking apocalypse. And then five minutes later some horrible creature humbles you instantly. Massive respect to the devs for making a game that constantly makes me say “ok LAST run” like a liar. Easy recommendation for anyone who loves roguelikes, dungeon crawlers, or games that quietly consume your entire evening.
Excellent call back to the original Diablo with a very addictive but simple gameplay loop. + Combat is tight and simple (like a diablo 1), yet skill based to the point if you die you know it was your own fault. + The game is challenging and does not hold your hand at all, which is a plus for me + Enemy variety is great and many different types to keep you on your toes. + level variety is good and gets better the higher you climb the tower. + Is an old school aRPG so you will not be blasting through hordes of monster and there is quite a bit of skill/strategy that goes into how you tackle certain enemy groups (unless you make a op build lol) + Itemization is GREAT and really has that diablo 1-2 feel to loot/gear. + Atmosphere and music is great and the further you climb the tower the better it gets. + Tons of build possibilities with many many spells, actions skills,..etc to combine into your own build/playtyles. + The environments/artstyle is very good. + Perfect length (took me about 9hrs for my first playthrough), good replay-ability due to its procedural level design and itemization and a NG+ mode that ramps the difficulty up even more with new enemy types, loot,..etc. The only thing some people will not like about this game is possibly the animations/visuals but I personally found the animations (death animations) quite charming. Overall if you want to play a game to bring back that diablo 1 feel this is the perfect game for that, just don't coming in expecting a modern "blasting" style aRPG because that is not what this is trying to be. Highly recommended!
pretty good, feels like diablo 1 with some features missing but some added. Please make another game and make what Diablo 2 shouldve been (or just Diablo 1 part 2 lol) simple but decent. Has some mind-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in it, and I got attacked by a mimic wall and it started chasing me through the dungeon like a feral tentacle bear (meant to be taken literally) and was also chased by 10 mimic barrels
