Reviews
Its alright, if you like old school pc-98 style games with all the jank and questionable choices that came with that era, then this game will definitely appeal to you. Musics solid and the clashing art styles add to the already absurdest comedy of the game well. Overall 7/10 experience so far, but its hard to say for sure with this just being my initial 2.5 hours and still being in the first parts of the game.
I'm not sure what to think about this game, It feels like they've introduced 2 dozen characters with personalities and backstories in the first area alone. The game moves at a fast pace and even though I'm enjoying the story so far, I'm worried it might become overwhelming. Continuing playing for now, but cautious. Edit: After playing more, my fears were unfounded, I love the deeper floors of the dungeon and am really digging the main love interest.
I'm still gonna file that defamation lawsuit.
I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I'm only about 6 hours in currently, but I'm excited to play more. It's extremely dialogue heavy, which may turn some people off, but all dialogue is skippable. I personally love all of the dialogue though and I've found myself clicking on all dialogue options for all characters not named Francesca. Otherwise, combat is simple, yet solid, with no clear downsides. I've played a lot of RPG maker slop, so this is a breath of fresh air with a pleasant combat loop. Also, I adore the art of this game. It's absolutely pleasant to look at every new character I meet and they are all extremely distinct. Absolutely genius character design.
Only played for about an hour so far, and gotten a bunch of laughs from it. The character writing has the perfect amount of care attached to it, and the designs are varied and distinct, which makes some stand out more than others, but there's something here for most people. Solid 8/10 time.
You better keep your bendy straw tucked inside your pants while playing this here game, son, you hear me?
This game has made me feel emotions I didn't know a human could, and its only been 4 hours! The art, sound, and writing all form a world bursting with personality and fun. The doctors said that my competitive multiplayer addled brain could NEVER recover and I'd be forced to live in the SlopMines FOREVER. Phijkchu Games has set me free and I can finally enjoy a unique RPG based off Toushin Tenshi. Being able to chop monsters up into health, saves, and even useful items makes the gameplay very unique! Cooking adds a new sense of progression when crawling the dungeon, because each kill has new meaning with the plethora of recipes and gear you can cook up. Toushin Gent let's me live out a lot of my fantasies like having friends, being able to cook things i find in a cave, and talking to a woman! The soundtrack doesnt dull or become grating even when it takes me a long time to read due to my 2nd grade reading level. The art and writing tie much of the story and experience together while some of the characters awaken something deep and disturbing within the deepest parts of my soul. Even if you're not an elite gamer like me (you aren't) you can still enjoy the art, sound, and writing that ooze personality.
playing this game feels like eating a 3 day old subway sandwich. annoying is my favorite character.
Toushin Gent is at its surface a homage to old PC98 style RPGs. It contains dialogue (some of it funny), and a ton of care. My biggest praises are the soundtrack and the art, my biggest complaints are how obscure progression can be, the fact that you cannot quit the game from the menu in the dungeon. Also the water fountain is a thing. Anyways guys, this game is interesting and worth checking out if you like old school rpg mechanics.
Annoying aka Mindy, is an absolute failure of a character, if the creator really didn't expect players to find them enjoyable to be with. Loser Girls are currently up in the Wrd Girlsphere and almost everyone likes those, unlike the opposite of a loser guy who is completely unlikeable and low in the Boysphere. The creator should have leaned more into her annoying side and cranked it up to 11. 1. Make her Ugly, nobody likes ugly girls. 2. Everytime she stops you when walking in the dungeon make it a 5 minute unskippable dialogue about her terrible past, or mcdonalds order. 3. In combat make it so the only redeeming quality of her is that you can throw her at the enemy for extra damage. 4. Actually sticking around her would make a bigger difference and change her player sprite to her current one. Rusp is Canonically 6ft 5 with shoes now... Now I will list redeeming qualities of the game, Wholesome Knight is on par with the actual game, interactive and ever changing world with going back and forth from the dungeon and bendy town, Dungeon map is cool, Better than Phijkchu Quest, Hot sexy women, and John,,,, Final Score: 7.3 :xd: I still want Black Lion and Evil Tiger Dlc.....
