The game runs fine for me, unlike the other reviews. This is unfortunate, because a black screen isn't as bad as actually playing it. The game is a micro-focused Real-Time Tactical game that's all about positioning and dodging. I think this is a really cool idea for a Touhou fangame. However, the interface is so clunky that actually performing micro feels terrible. The game was made for controller. To select characters you use the shoulder buttons, but cycling between characters is finicky, and moving the cursor at all will stop the selection. To perform actions, you need to reach the character with the cursor or cycling, press the button for movement, then select a tile to move to. If you want to use skills, then use the analog stick to select in a wheel menu and press A. Simply getting to a character and choosing a spell takes way too much finicky effort. There are Auto-Move and Auto-Skill buttons to try and speed up actions, but these are also very slow. You can't choose which character will react to the Auto commands, it's just the unit closest to the cursor. The unit waits a moment (like 0.2 seconds) before acting, which is really bad for a game that needs accurate movement. You can double-tap the Auto command to order all of your characters, but if the characters are spread out, well... now all your units are moving slowly to the destination. Probably through bullets. On mouse + keyboard, it's slightly better. The mouse makes it easier to select your units by hovering the cursor over them. But it's still very unpolished, and trying to choose a skill from the wheel menu is still very bad with a mouse. On both keyboard and controller, the game feels like it was designed for the wrong control scheme... but there's no correct control scheme. When you're only moving and attacking with one unit, the game is ok, just slow. With multiple, it feels like you shouldn't even bother dodging with more than one unit. Other real-time games, like RTS and MOBAS, make selecting units and casting skills as fast and simple as possible. You can select different units or groups with one button or chord, and skills are on different buttons. This game would be much, much better with a mouse and keyboard control scheme like this: - Select a unit with the number keys - Use a skill with QWE or R (if it needs to be aimed, cast at the mouse cursor) - use mouse to move or graze This game is slower than StarCraft or MOBAs, but it's still pretty unacceptable to have such clumsy controls when the game is about dodging buillets. The difficulties of real-time tactics controls have already been solved in PC and console games.
A “Carnival” Where Bullethell and Tactics Fuse in Real Time
An officially licensed derivative title that fuses the tension of bullethell shooting with tactical RPG. Centered on the 30-day “Spell Carnival” in which Reimu and others participate, allies and story branches change depending on which opponents you challenge. Battles unfold on a grid, where AP accumulates for actions, bullets constantly fill the screen, grazing earns gauge, and you unleash the decisive Ace Spell. Cover objects, attribute effects, and bonus items also come into play, so instant judgment and positioning decide victory. The real-time aspect exists, and at first it may feel a bit overwhelming. At the Hakurei Shrine base, you can enjoy sub-events and a photo mode, adding interaction and presentation between battles. The anime-style graphics are high quality, and in addition to full Japanese voice acting, the soundtrack features the main theme by “Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets” along with many arranged Touhou classics. For fans familiar with Touhou’s world and music, it offers great appeal, though newcomers may feel a certain barrier in context and pricing. Still, if you want to experience a unique experiment that combines bullethell and tactics, it is a title well worth considering.
Check out our Steam curator , YouTube channel and X(Twitter)!

The game itself isn't bad, but it has terrible desktop keyboard support. I can't tell which keys to press because it shows console buttons. I couldn't finish the tutorial even by mashing the entire keyboard.
Gameplay is trash honestly, battle space needs to be larger to be able to control the characters properly. Too clunky, but otherwise the game is super cute and has some amazing voice acting!
this game is not deserving of the touhou skin really gameplay is pretty terrible and it feels like the only thing knows about is making bunch of bullets fly around. if this was a mobile it probably be better
