Souzinengi V is a full-scale RPG that carries on the traditions of RPGs from the good old days. It was made with the challenge of seeing just how interesting battles could be with standard, 5-character, turn-based combat, and whether its character growth system would be fun while remaining simple.

Very fun game. This version now has 3 difficulties, so you can always try the easier difficulties if need be.
Decided to give this game a second chance, and I'm glad I did! The game is a really fun and in-depth RPG with plenty of character customization and skills to discover. Every character feels unique and has their uses (even if some are more useful than others). The combat is also really fun and enjoyable! The postgame also has quests that guarantee rare materials, making grinding less of a hassle. The lack of a map, the aimless wandering, and some dungeon designs drag the game down at points, but the good heavily outweighs the bad. I'd recommend this over Devil of Decline, it's a much more worthwhile experience.
Classic game from my childhood.
good
Having only played for 13 hours, this is exactly what I paid for: a JRPG with some semi-deep mechanics featuring Touhou characters. I'll edit this review in the future and add more details when I get a good way through the game.
Play it in hard mode
Other JRPG devs should probably take tons of notes from this one in terms of gameplay mechanics and difficulty balance.
I've never been impressed by turn-based rpgs, but this one really takes the cake. Incredible depth in its systems, which the game demands you to master in order to succeed. And despite being tough as nails, the game never feels like you have to grind in order to overcome an encounter, even against the insanely difficult final boss. All you need is to consider every option you're given to find the winning strategy.
