About
A remaster of the origin point for the doujin circle Ankake Spa, creators of Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity and Touhou: New World has hit the scene! Konpaku Youmu stars in a stage-based 3D bullet hell action game with an emphasize on simple but satisfying controls.
Konpaku Youmu works as the gardener, security, and swordsmanship instructor for Saigyouji Yuyuko, mistress of Hakugyokurou.
One day, upon Youmu scolding her mistress for slacking off in her training, Yuyuko told her "with your lack of skill, there won't be any training."
Yuyuko then challenged her to prove herself by defeating the shrine maiden who'd resolved Gensokyo's incidents time and time again:
She was to go and defeat Hakurei Reimu.
Youmu wasn't happy with this, but showing awareness of her inexperience, she accepted her mistress's conditions and set off for Gensokyo.
Will she be able to overcome the dangers awaiting her, defeat Reimu, and prove her skills to Yuyuko?
Use Three Skills to Clear Stages and Beat Bosses!
Youmu has three skills that each have their own strong points – movement, area damage, and range, as well as high-damage Spell Card. They'll come in handy when clearing stages if used well!
For example, your dash skill can help extend your jump range as well as do damage, and your ranged skill can defeat troublesome foes waiting on the other side of gaps.
Farm Combos to Turn the Tides
Continuing to hit enemies will raise your combo counter, granting bonuses to your score and skill recharge rate.
The latter bonus lets you use your skills much more often, making battles much easier.
Difficulty Options
Play on Easy, Hard, or Normal; whichever suits your skill level.
Music
Touhou: Blossom Blade features Touhou arranges from Shoichiro Sakamoto, AKA Sound Sepher, to make stages feel even more alive.
Each Skill Has its Own Button!
Previously, you toggle between between Youmu's three skills as you fought, but the skill controls have been updated to be more intuitive.

Very satisfying to play, highly recommend for Touhou fans.
I remember I played this game like more than 12 years ago, and I think I wasn't even in high school yet lol The "indie game" term wasn't a thing, we had some obscure japanese doujin games at the time and Steam wasn't even that popular yet. I'm happy that the devs brought this game to Steam. Now it can be eternalized and officially accessible on PC. This is a great game, totally action focused with smooth and simple controls, fast and satisfying action and a speed and responsiveness that is hard to see these days in gaming. It is pretty much inspired by the classic Ys games and has excellent Touhou music. It is a very short game though and can be finished at around 1.5 hours. For the price being asked, it is pretty good and very fun for the time. I recommend it, very worth for the fun and price for a quick play.
Up front, it's worth noting that Touhou: Blossom Blade is essentially a remaster of a Touhou doujin game made in 2011. That said, Blossom Blade is an excellent little action game with boss fights that incorporate the bullet-hell roots of Touhou well. There's a score system in place, complete with a DMC-inspired combo counter that rewards keeping a quick pace of defeating enemies while not getting hit. This isn't an earth-shattering feature, but it adds some decent depth the game, alongside the 3 difficulties. For a low asking price of 6 USD at the time of writing, this old game cleans up exceptionally well and makes for a fine addition to the collection of any Touhou fan or Score Attack gamer.
I played this game over a decade ago and I really enjoyed its combat and music. I am glad I have the chance to play it again with this remaster.
It's... alright. Definitely no Scarlet Curiosity, but alright if you want some easy, mindless combat. Still has the same smoothness as SC though. Just miss blazing through levels at super high speeds with Reimu tbh. Bosses are kinda lame also imo, but hey. Probably gonna refund cause I can't see myself playing through the whole thing, but yeah.
A nice short game well worth the price.
Is it more of the same? yeah. Is it good anyway? absolutely. The main change is the fact you actually want to explore this time which is a huge improvement. Overall if you liked their earlier games you will enjoy it. And for people who haven't played them before, i'd say give this game a shot it was a fun time all things considered. Huge hopes for the future projects but please give us enemy variety and dont just put the same enemy everywhere
