Total War: SHOGUN 2 is the perfect mix of real-time and turn-based strategy gaming for newcomers and veterans alike.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 8.43/day in the week to Aug 15 → 5.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

CA said this is not the complete edition.
If you can pirate the "Complete Edition" do so, because paying for an update is absolutely absurd.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Total War: SHOGUN 2 is still one of the best strategy games Creative Assembly has ever made. Instead of overwhelming the player with hundreds of different unit types and mechanics, the game keeps things focused and polished, which makes every battle feel tactical and meaningful. The setting of feudal Japan is fantastic, and the art direction, soundtrack, and atmosphere work together perfectly. Watching lines of samurai clash while arrows rain down and drums play in the background never really gets old. The campaign strikes a great balance between empire management and large-scale battles. Diplomacy, positioning, and army composition all matter, and victories feel genuinely earned - especially on higher difficulties. The good: - Excellent tactical battles - Beautiful art direction and atmosphere - One of the best settings in the Total War series - Focused and polished gameplay - Satisfying progression throughout the campaign - Strong soundtrack and sound design - Battles are cinematic and memorable - Good balance between strategy and accessibility - Realm Divide creates intense late-game pressure - Still looks surprisingly good today The bad: - AI diplomacy can be frustrating - Realm Divide can feel unfair sometimes - Limited unit variety compared to other Total War games - Naval battles are mediocre - Campaign pacing slows down in late game - Some siege battles become repetitive - Pathfinding issues still happen occasionally - Multiplayer community is much smaller nowadays Overall, SHOGUN 2 is one of those rare strategy games where almost everything just clicks together. It’s focused, atmospheric, and incredibly satisfying to play even years after release.
Over a dozen Total War titles have launched since Shogun 2 debuted in 2011, yet it is still one of the absolute best in the series. It captures the nostalgic, classic charm of the older games and a distinct aesthetic that none of the other games have been able to replicate. And regardless of its age, it still runs good as new. As of 2026, I still come back to it for more.
CA should feel ashamed of themselves with the route they are going down. The disrespect towards its fans and especially the modding community is completely unacceptable. When you have devs like Pearl Abyss and Hello Games fixing their releases and adding EXPANSIVE new content for free, there's no excuse for this level of greed. Way to push your fanbase away.

I LOVE THE ONLY DLC BLOOD PACK IT BRINGS SO MUCH CONTENT THANKS CA FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND COMMITMENT TO MAKING PLAYERS PROUD AND SUPPORTIVE OF YOUR COMPANY AND GAMES!
I bought this game to conquer feudal Japan. Instead, feudal Japan conquered me. 10/10, would sell my katana collection (that I now own) again.
