A very solid game even without the Dawnless days mod. Its quite dated tho and would love to see some love from the devs for it. LOTR mod did revive the game tho and i hope it receives some much needed updates! Very hard 7/10, 19/10 with the LOTR mod
After trying all 3 campaigns I can safely say that those who say this game is a revolt simulator are absolutely right. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the game. Especially the battles are amazing. However rest gets old pretty quickly. I don't know if it's because the devs were going through some tough time or they had terrible historians as advisors but they made the people of the era ungrateful sons of beavers. It didn't bother me in the beginning when I was playing as the WRE. Every corner of the empire was under attack. Hordes were running rampant through the borders it was chaos... However it doesn't matter if you stabilize your borders, have ample amounts of food and even the border towns of your empire are impenetrable fortress that barbarian hordes can't even dream about raiding. Your people find excuses to be unhappy... Than I noticed it wasn't about WRE. No folk in this game is happy. It doesn't matter if they're a tribe living in their ancestral land safe and sound. Or they're in Iberia or Africa never seen a single enemy for decades their economy is booming their town is healthy and growing better than ever. Doesn't matter they're unhappy. AoC is even more nonsense. Normal taxes gives -10 Public order, max taxes gives -45 and no taxes is just neutral. No happiness just a neutral 0. So if you give them food, shelter, provide safety in the borders with large and expensive armies while covering all those expanses from your pocket, your people just say meh, of course he will just basic tasks for a king... Seriously CA really needs to find another way than triggering almost unavoidable rebellions all over an otherwise peaceful kingdom to make games harder. As I said I enjoyed the games I played in general. Especially battles were always fun. However for some reason all the other aspects of the game are all about punishing the player for no other reason than creating artificial difficulty. I would only suggest buying when the game is on some serious sale.

Good solid game, shame about the number of crashes so far
Aunque hubiera cosas mejorables, sigue siendo un clásico que merece la pena.
if you play for a faction in Europe and the Huns start attacking you - you will almost never finish the game - they have hordes in numbers that you will never have if you play for them - it's unrealistic....the game will simply crash and won't let you finish it...I don't recommend the game
LOVE IT
