Where do I start? I can't believe a game this good only has 56 other reviews at the time of writing this. ToruTaru is an up and coming cult classic I believe. The atmosphere is OPPRESSIVE to say the least. The claustrophobia and dread from each new floor you reach is pretty hard to describe without playing it yourself. And sure while this game may have it's jumpscares, the horror relies heavily on the atmosphere, environment, sound design, and the build-up to a chase, and when that chase comes? BOY does your adrenaline kick in. So far the game doesn't have an end-goal as far as I know, but the gameplay loop is entertaining and the level and entity variation is enough to keep things fresh for a while. My reason for my low play time at the posting of this review? I'm simply too scared to play it without streaming it to someone
very very fun. can't wait to play when more stuff is added

Un juego de calabozos con gráficos de psx con temática de terror muy repetitivo, sinceramente no lo recomiendo. muy decepcionante y no fue lo que espere.

There is an otherworldly quality to the inhabitants of ToruTaru that many other horror titles attempt to imitate, but few come close. This is a visual and sonic nightmare, and it's awesome. At its core, ToruTaru is a procedurally generated maze game, seemingly old-school in nature, with a few hints of further complexity trickling in here and there. Collect items, avoid getting your soul torn to shreds, and figure out where the hell you're going. You WILL get lost. You will NEVER feel powerful. To say more would spoil the experience. It's difficult and creepy, and for a couple bucks, absolutely worth a shot. Fans of early PC/PS1 style horror titles will feel especially at home here. I'm excited to see where this thing goes!
It's extremely charming in a unique and enjoyable indie game sense. The low-fi ps1 style graphics and the japanese spectral horror aesthetic are big bonuses for me, but the hardcore difficulty is something that's turning me off. Right now I don't feel like I have a chance of beating the game. The map is too sparse and the chances of getting away from a ghost that is cutting you off from the exit where you don't know which direction it is. Most of the time you need a blasted key. I could be missing something, but the game is still early access and will hopefully some polish. [EDIT] Thank you to the developer response. The comment left explains a lot and I appreciate the tips. The new update from what I have played is fun. I do hope for the best for the game and devs.
So this video game is... It's not of this world. It's Torutaru's fury. And he's put a curse on us.
Works well in every way. All things considered, this is one of my favorite games of all time. Addicting and hard to put down. Stylish and fun. Genuinely anxiety inducing, even for those who don't scare easily.
