Stop that! It's silly!
I almost channeled The Colonel with: Nobody likes a good laugh more than I do.... when I started playing this. But then I realised, I took this game to see just how silly it would be... and I must admit, it didn't disappoint there. After dating pigeons, cats, bunnies, monsters, even sports (don't ask!), why not have your own Santa harem? You probably never thought you needed one, but stranger things happen, especially on Christmas. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2694574058 So you wish upon a star to save your toy shop from bankruptcy just around Christmas and... maybe your love life while you're at it. 2 in 1. But the Christmas star sends you 6 (SIX) Santas. Too Many Santas!™ Yes, Santas are your little helpers now, except they're not helpful at all. Because, they all have exactly one defining trait and it just happens to be the one that is completely detrimental to your shop's sales, making it even worse than before. (What kind of Christmas miracle is this?! Why, a comedic twist, of course!) Sassy Santa is rude to everyone cause "there are so many stupid people and so many wonderful insults." (I kinda get where he's coming from.) Sad Santa chases away customers with her existential crisis musings. Secret Santa is always on some classified mission, but is actually hiding from people (social anxiety Santa). Sleepy Santa, well, the name checks out. Saintly Santa is overzealous for the true Christmas spirit (and nobody wants to hear him sing). Sexy Santa, well tbh, he actually attracts customers, being attractive and all, but he's also sexualising Christmas by constantly flirting with them (naughty Santa for naughty 'kids'). Generally, this wacky comedy VN turned out to be more fun and witty than was my initial impression. It's very cheeky and self-aware, often meta, pokes fun at dating sims, Christmas, religion, icons, consumerism, you name it. It's a parody of course, not a mean one, but more good-natured, I felt. It's all for the lulz and that's ok, but it also punches and stings on occasion in a true satirical fashion (I especially liked Sad, Sassy and Saintly Santa in that regard). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2696095832 As a visual novel, it's very simple and bare-bones: it consists of photographs and real actors (no voices though), complemented by some Christmas music in the background and is overall very short (around 30 min or less for one route). It has very simple choices that come in pairs, for good and naughty endings, and a sound effect that lets you know exactly what you've chosen. Similarly, you just directly pick your Santa from the screen (no common route) and off you go. The MC has customizable name and pronouns (I left it at default, Sandy Cleese). Let's not forget that this also parodies dating sims, especially otome. Five male and one female 'romanceable' characters, like it's common in many western otome. Routes actually consist of comedy sketches, there's no plot/story per se unless you count some vague throughline about every Santa overcoming that one and only trait... which always leads to a bad end. Try to change your Santa and you break them. No, better learn to love all of them (I mean, that one trait) and accept them for who they are, the fate of your store be [strike]damned.[/strike] Oops, blessed! It's Christmas, miracles happen. I chuckled at this, because, why, that's exactly like in many otome. Anyway, more importantly, unexpectedly, Sleepy Santa's route is the steamiest! (FYI) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2697534052 And so by the same Christmas miracle, I ended up liking this more than I thought I would when I started it. I'm so glad I didn't have to play the Scrooge. Yes, it's silly, very much so, but shut up, Colonel! It's Christmas! Whether it's too pricey for the content and duration, well, it's difficult for me to assess that, cause Santa gifted it to me; if it's because I was good or naughty, isn't quite clear. I'd say, you decide how much money you don't have you want to spend on things you don't need.
A toy store going downhill due to debts, a young owner yearning for love and a sudden wish grant – A meaningful change taking place during Christmas time.

Game’s premise:
You play as Sandy, a toy shop owner finding herself in a difficult situation while struggling with finances. While bearing many hopes and plans for her store, the numerous debts and lack of customers won’t let her move forward with her business – the opposite in fact. While being desperate to accomplish a single sale, Sandy is at a huge risk of being forced to close her shop nonetheless working during Christmas time. Such an unfortunate case, given it is during this season that sales shall be increasing instead.
A sweet shiny miracle:
While wondering about how to proceed, you suddenly view a vast gleam arriving from the window’s side; while checking it out you notice it is a large-sized star, and it is appearing during daytime. The magical Christmas Star perhaps? You choose to make a wish trying to hold onto the miraculous luck you are facing. All you ask for is to be able to save the shop’s future and a possible Christmas date.
The request was heard:
Before you notice, the magical star is gone and you find yourself to be standing in front of… 6 Santas?! The plea was heard, but you are still astonished due to the unexpected situation. While trying to process the altogether you come to realization that each Santa is differently… suspicious. In fact each one of them is quite outstanding. We do have here Secret Santa, Sassy Santa, Saintly Santa, Sexy Santa, Sad Santa and even Sleepy Santa… how are they supposed to fulfil your request or even help? You start by hiring them all as toy shop workers.
Featurings:
This is a short Visual Novel with Dating Sim elements. The game does present many choices that come after picking your date among the 6 Santas. The stated choices will influence the outcome – with a possibility of two different outcomes (good or bad) for each Santa date. The game does offer the possibility of choosing player’s name and selecting pronouns to get addressed by. The design is characterized by real life photographs used as sprites that do come along with a huge variety of poses and expressions per sprite. The sprites will present eye blinking, which in human form I did find a tad creepy. The game does present sound effects and a little voice acting; the latter does not include any actual dialogues, but occasional laughs and “Ho-ho-ho” exclamations from Santas’ side. Needless to say, everything is accompanied by Christmas-themed BGM. While many choices will be offered they won’t influence significantly the story, as the plot is quite simple and no development will be offered coming to characters (therefore no routes). Instead, they will alter slightly the dialogue at hand and proceed in the same way, until you reach the ending (which in fact is variable). The story is sectioned in 4 extremely short chapters plus the epilogue, which will consist of positive or negative outcome. The narration is mostly on the comic side, presenting a lot of puns and jokes creating an overall fun read. A huge flaw however from my viewpoint would be the game’s duration. The player will complete all the routes within 2 hours and a half, therefore you will mainly get humorous dialogues and a sudden epilogue, more than an actual plot. I can clearly view the effort and passion put in this game but personally I am reluctant towards recommending others to purchase it. I do enjoy short games with funny elements but others may expect a bit more out of it given the price.
Overall:
Personally enjoyed this title and do not regret completing it, however it is advised to evaluate well all the mentioned points before deciding whether to purchase it. Recommended if you are looking for a very short story with no plot development, still offering funny elements. Too Many Santas is a short piece of fluff aimed squarely at providing a couple of hours' festive amusement, without having to delve into a complex storyline, nor understand the background of its characters. Which is a lengthy way of saying: - There is no plot in this visual novel, to speak of. - There is no character development. - Graphics are also effectively non-existent, being replaced by photographs of locations and people. At this point, if you have read enough to know you're not interested, stop reading this now. Otherwise, note: The above does not matter! I like it when someone takes a popular theme and runs with it for laughs, and the developers have made a decent fist of doing so with this Christmas offering.
Story
At least, as far as one goes, is this. You take on the role of “Sandy Cleese”, which is immediately changeable, along with your preferred pronoun. Obviously, I changed the name to Sandy Beach – if this is a love story, then who doesn't love one of those, right? (OK, so anybody from a hot country or who has grown up in a coastal tourism hotspot, probably, but many of the rest of us do!) Sandy owns a toy shop which is in dire financial straits. She has no customers, no cash flow, and for good measure, her love life is as bare as the cash registers. To compound matters, there are only a few days left to Christmas, when she should be doing a roaring trade. She's about to give up for the day and close the doors, when, looking out of the window, she spots a huge shining star in the daylight sky. Naturally, she wishes upon it for a successful business and someone to share the joy of the season with. The star instantly disappears, and the shop then plays host to six Santas, five male and one female, and all with one, different, overriding characteristic.
Gameplay
After this introduction, you get to choose which of the Santas to “keep a close eye on”. All six appear on a selection screen, and the only voicing in the game happens here. When you hover the mouse pointer over one, they respond with a character-appropriate “ho ho ho”. I liked the Sad Santa response, which gave me my first laugh from the game. Whichever one you choose will be the route you instantly enter. Each of the six “mini stories” is comprised of four chapters (you could easily be forgiven for thinking it's only one); during which you get a nicely balanced number of either/or selections to make, and the progression of a number of connected brief scenes involving the Santa of your choice. Where declarations of love are made, they seem outrageously quick; but do remember that it was wished for, and therefore should not come as a surprise! Each route has a “naughty” and a “nice” ending, and it is very easy to get the sequence of options right at the first attempt to achieve both; so there is no frustration to be had. The photography work in the game (replacing drawn graphics), works well and should not be seen as a barrier to taking the plunge on this game. If anything, it is sound proof that visual novels can be produced without the need to commit copious amounts of funds to supporting artwork. Typing of sound, YES! Unless you have developed a deep-seated aversion to any Christmas music (understandable if you work in retail at this time of year), then the soundtrack throughout is GREAT, and clearly the highlight of the whole package. It will definitely help to get you in the mood for the occasion.
Verdict
So long as you take this game for what it is, and don't expect a deep, emotional story within which you can self-insert; then it absolutely meets expectations. And for that, with recommendation options being either yes or no, it gets a yes. I released several audible giggles during my runs through, and felt reasonably happy with my use of the 3 hours or so that I had spent with the game, by the time I had finished it. However (there had to be a “but”, didn't there?), I didn't have to pay for the game, and checking the price on the store page, it has to be said that for the amount of content available, it's quite pricey. Therefore, my final verdict is that if you can spare the purchase price without any likelihood of feeling the pinch as a result, then this is well worth a go over the holidays; but if you're on a tighter budget and it's a case of either this or something else you have your eye on; then exercise caution before making your decision. Wait, can you have too many Santas? No way!!! I haven't had this much fun with a VN for a long time!! In less than 3 hours, you can get your fill of cheesy puns and one-liners dealing with everything Christmas, and then some. Sometimes you'll laugh out loud, snort, or spit out your drink, other times you'll smack your head and groan, but you'll never get bored with this title!! I highly recommend you get to know these Santas, and you don't have to wait until Christmas :)
First up I give this game a thumbs up cause I see it as a good product as the writing is good, it has a nice soundtrack and just overall is a polished product. At the same time however I actually personally wouldnt really recommend buying it. The game offers quite a lot of different santas and for each of them a good/bad ending. This means that each route is that much shorter as to allow for so many different routes. The problem with that however is that each route itself is just too short and that makes it so that no actual character development or nice story development has ever the chance to develop. The VN has a few interesting dialogues and the writing is really not bad, but since there is no actual story development happening the only redeeming quality can come from the dialogues themselves. Sadly the only thing that would be really helpful on that front would be some witty jokes or other humorous writing, but even if some of that exists in the game it just didnt catch me and it was overall just a rather boring read. Since the game is so short and I just didnt really find it fun or romantic it just didnt catch my attention and I quickly lost my interest. The quality of the game itself on the other hand is actually pretty polished and the real backgrounds and charcacters are the positive aspects of the game. Sadly however the important parts for me being the story and or fun writing just couldnt convince me. I would really only recommend it if you are looking for a fitting VN for the christmas season and you dont mind the routes being super short cause the writing not being my cup could easily just be my subjective opinion and from a technical quality its good. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34401214/

Follow Far2close - Visual Novel Playthroughs Curator Page Too Many Santas! Developer: Oh, a Rock! Studios Publisher: Oh, a Rock! Studios Pros: 1. The plot is easy to get into, without needing a large build up or big dedication. It's casual and fits with the holiday spirit that comes with the winter season. 2. Characters are distinct and fit in with their designated names. They can bring a lot of appeal to whichever Santa you decide to choose. Their gimmicks are quite fun to see and their interactions with the others can be comedic. For the Santas, we have; Secret, Sassy, Sexy, Saintly, Sad, and finally Sleepy. From their names alone it is easy to tell of how they will act. 3. The design shows that a lot of work has been put into it. Each Santa has a lot of various different poses and facial expressions along with the idle blinking. I'm sure a TON of photos were taken to make sure these were done according to their desire and it shows. The backgrounds are also photographs, some being the developer's local malls and are of high resolution as well. 4. The music consists of some instrumental tracks that fit in with Christmas spirit along some other tracks that do set the mood. Cons: 1. The plot is indeed easy to get into, however if you're looking for something with a little depth and characters that you'd like to care about with great intensity, then Too Many Santas might not suit your preferences. The story is short so it doesn't exactly give you much time to get to know the characters to their full extent nor does the plot present anything worth noting. Conclusion: Too Many Santas is a wholesome short story if you're looking for something that doesn't require a lot of dedication and makes you feel some comedic holiday spirit. If you want something more, then you might be looking in the wrong place. Score: 7/10 GOOD
Another absolutely hilarious release by the insane, yet quite talented people behind games such as Internet Court. Six short stories, each with 2 options: A happy or a sad path. All of them very funny.
short and funny vn about dating santas :) a little disappointed with sassy and sleepy santa's routes: sassy's kind of an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and i think sleepy's route didn't take advantage of the premise of him being sleepy but otherwise a lot of fun! saintly santa ended up being an unexpected favorite, the religious references were funny and i really enjoyed sexy and sad santa's routes! im also just a big fan of using images of the real world in vns. scratches a very specific itch for me in conclusion release the secret krampish ending. otherwise 10/10
Got entrapped by Sleepy Santa's beard. 10/10.
